What makes you grumpy?

I'm well into grumpy age. Most things make me grumpy.

These are a few of my (un)favourite things:

Lavatory paper that won't tear cleanly at the perforations.

Golf balls that are so badly made they don't fly where I intend them to.

Service stations that don't have space at the pumps the side that my car has its filler cap.

Australian electrical plugs. (In spades.)

Socks that slip down until they are under my feet.

Icons: I can read - it takes more time to work out what half the icons mean than just to read the title.

And yours?

Finding a sock that I dropped on the way to the washing machine after said washing machine is in wash mode, umpteen pairs of shoes, none of which are mine, congregating in the hall instead of in the hall cupboard, lid off toothpaste, filling up with petrol and always going over by 1p (I swear it's rigged!). Oh the list is bloody endless......:(

I know this is completely irrational but people who indicate to drive around bends in the road that aren't junctions and thus don't need indicating.

It infuriates me for some reason.

People who put the loo roll the wrong way round - if you care about this then you know what I mean.
My kids when the loo roll runs out and they get a new one but can't be arsed to take the card inner off the holder so just hang the new one alongside.
Women who wee on the seat of public loos - why oh why?!
Women who leave craps floating in public loos.
Flies.
Buying a pot of tea and the stupid pot holds 1.5 or 2.5 cups of tea, not a whole number.
Tea pots that drip.
Supermarket checkout people who can't pack properly (just freakin' leave it to me!).
People taking crisps or sweets in wrappers to the cinema - why oh why?!
People who talk in the cinema/ theatre.
People who text in the cinema/ theatre.
When you are shopping at the supermarket and totally digging that 80s rock ballad and then it's spoiled by a barely comprehensible announcement about something on special THAT I DON'T WANT.
Tissues left in pockets in the wash.
We can send folk to the moon but we can't get sunblock off the car paintwork or interior.
Adverts.

People who don't pick up after their dog. Ditto those that do and then leave the bag of turd for someone else to collect.

I could go on but I fear this isn't doing my blood pressure any good :D

There's a new washing machine on the market that allows you to add items even if it has started.

Samsung AddWash opens the door to adding extra items during a wash cycle

I could have written that, but I'd add a couple of items...

People who insist on mowing over gravel.

People's inability to load the dishwasher, let alone unload it.

I was behind one of these the other day (indicated at a curve in the road) and I said to my son who was with me "what's the bet he now turns onto the motor way and doesn't indicate at the intersection". Sure enough, that's what happened, we were in stitches.

The other thing that grinds my gears is people who pull off of the hard shoulder on the motorway at zero speed into the first lane of traffic moving at 100 km/h.

I know why they do it - the road rules say you mustn't drive in the shoulder, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get your speed up before merging back into the flow of traffic. I see this all the time in NSW.

With contactless systems you put the card on the pad to 'touch' on or off.

If you have multiple zones then you need to 'touch on' and 'touch off' so that it can work out the journey and no over charge you.

Melbourne trams are all in zone 1 though - so it ought to be impossible for them to overcharge you. Hence Mr Grumpy.

However, there can actually be problems, in that if you use a tram to get somewhere, get off without touching off, then go back on the same route, you can actually catch the same tram - meaning your second 'touch on' can be registered as a 'touch off' and so in theory you are riding without paying.

Let's just say there are bigger issues with Myki than touching off ...

This used to infuriate me. After being nearly hit 3 times at the same bend that has a t junction coming on to it, I, too, now indicate that I'm going to continue on my way rather than leave the road.

10 yards from this bend/junction scenario is a roundabout. What makes me grumpy is that apparently some drivers have no understanding that if you are indicating right, IT MEANS YOU ARE GOING PAST THEIR FLIPPING ENTRY POINT AND THUS THEY CAN'T ENTER THE FLIPPING ROUNDABOUT UNTIL I'VE FLIPPING GONE PAST.

Oh, and taxi drivers and ute drivers who insist on doing a u-turn outside the railway station, rather than negotiate the bend/junction and roundabout above.

In fact, if we could just remove that 30 yard stretch of road, my life would be far less grumpy.

(all distances are completely made up, I have no idea how far 10 or 30 yards are, but they're all really close to each other)

Commuting during school holidays makes me grumpy.
Parents who let their feral little brats treat public transit like a playground. Surely they don't encourage them to be loud and run rampant at home.
