That's all my mother had.
I used to turn the wringer (mangle) handle for her as she fed the washing through.

I don't remember but the rollers were not rock hard.
They did give a bit so were made of a hard rubber I guess.

Yes I vaguely remember the rollers being coated in something rubbery. Surprised your mum still used those things. But I can remember a time when it was fairly common for people not to have washing machines. Most used to do their washing at the laundromat. Almost every parade of shops used to have a laundromat once.

That's just reminded me of the forerunners to the twin tub machines that also came with an electric mangle. My dear old nan had one of those too. She was quite a gadget freak in those days
