Can't live without a dryer, though. I hate clothes dried on the clothesline.

We got a dishwasher as a present for my first marriage, in 1989. I left him in 1990 and didn't get custody, despite a lengthy fight, because his parents bought it. 
I didn't have one again until we moved here last year and there is one in the rental. I didn't use it for weeks until somebody persuaded me that modern ones really are more water conscious than washing and rinsing a load of pots and pans by hand.
I didn't miss one for years, but now I would.

We got a Bosch frontloader, because that was the one with the best review in "Choice".

Our local library (Joondalup) has the whole collection and you can just go in and read the report there and make a copy if you want.
