yep, it's on BBC2 again, 9.15 every morning. Apparently there are 20 episodes although I imagine like last time the last few will be catch ups with previous families.

Quite!
Although 'A Place In The Sun- Down Under' was on Channel 4 on Friday night (i think it's a series of three) and they were more realisitic as it was filmed in August 2008. The couple were being ridiculous though, changed their minds what they wanted every five minutes and wanted to live somewhere posh without paying for it. Amanda Lamb was hilarious!

If you're in the UK, you'll be able to watch it on the BBCi player too.

Hi Thanks for that information...I've told my husband to get taping those every morning.....Just checked the TV guide and i think its BBC1 not 2. Just incase those of you are taping and tape the wrong channels.
I watched that couple on Friday nite too and agree that they were quite fussy although i suppose if you want to spend that much money on a home you probably can be fussy....
I wondered wheter anyone can gvie me a heads up. We haven't quite made up minds about where we'd like to move to.....either Queensland or WA perhaps, but was just checking out rental costs in Qld and seem to be quite high. Was hoping to rent until we get sorted with jobs etc and get a feel for where we will want to buy. Would like three bed house (probably furnished) anyone have any ideas what we'd be looking at paying. Was hoping we'd be able to rent something in the region of £500.00 per month until we are ready to buy is this very unrealistic??

GBP500 is currently exhanging for just around A$1000....that's a budget of only $230 per week. For a 3 bed house in any area of Brisbane you are likely to consider living in I'm afraid that is very unrealistic. I can't imagine WA being any better.

Yep thought i'd get that reply....
Just trying to get a feel as to prices we'll have to be looking at when we go (keep saying "when" - maybe should rephrase that to "if").
Anyway thanks for your reply.
Also you said that most rental properties are unfurnished. Would you theefore recommend we ship most of our possessions with us?
Thanks Again

...be warned a lot of the cheaper search results coming back in the Brisbane area seem to be on the bay islands which aren't somewhere most people would live....if they have to work etc that is.
I've never shipped furniture so I can't offer you much advice on that...many people on here have though and there are lots of threads detailing costs etc.
You can look into long term holiday lets for furnished accomodation but I think the costs would be well in excess of what you're looking for.

Thanks for that.
I have checked this website out already, and yes there are a few properties coming up with the cheaper prices, however like you said - i am not sure of the areas and what they are like - i'm guessing these properties are not in locations that would be practical for us...
It really is a bit of a shot in the dark for us....(as i expect it is for most people). We have never visited Australia and therefore can only judge places by research and what people like yourselves say.
I appriciate your help and advice. Will just keep researching....

I think its a new series, as a friend of mine who is a cameraman was filming in the Uk in the summer for Wanted Downunder, also Bix was at a filming of an update, I am sure he will correct me if I am wrong.
