Thing is once you are there the choice is yours as to where you finally settle. Been on other posts and people have moved areas after a few weeks but I feel you need to give a place a good 6-12 months to get a feel

thats true sassy,
we are going to look round lots of suburbs and get a feel for the place before making decision. it will also depend on jobs etc... but this won't be too much of an issue for me as a nurse (i hope).
We are taking jons mum out on holiday with us so she can stay with the kids while we drive around checking out all the areas

its a good profession really...if you ignore all the politics that go on. Having said that I wouldn't want to do the training how it is now....I liked my practical hands on training. But then i did train with florence! lol
I think if you enjoy it...then stick with it. What does hubby do?

Really and truly I prefer the hands on bit rather than the paperwork - which seems to be the majority of the job now. But OH went back to gas engineering a couple of years ago after a 6 year break and hey presto its on the MODL so we thought what the hell....go for it now rather than later - thing is I'm cracking on a bit now (almost 40 :scared: ) and don't especailly want to wait any longer - want to be on the beach minus wrinkly boobs and belly!!!!!

i have wrinkly boobs and belly... I was 40 this year....going to disco dancing aerobics tonight to try and lose a bit of my wrinkly, saggy bits. so will you finish your course here first before you go out? I take my hat off to you studying with a hubby and 5 children to look after!
your course will fly by.... one of my neighbours started her mental health training what seems like only yesterday.....she is now 18 months qualified!
How do your children feel about the move. My daughter is a bit reluctant..but I think we are winning her round slowly but surely.

my daughter is a tom boy so wants to do all the things the boys do...so it gets a bit difficult sometimes, especially as some of her male friends hang out with 16 year old boys.....or I should say the 16 year olds hang around with them......not sure why 16 year old boys would want to hang around 10 year olds really
my 5 year old son...now he is really in touch with his feminne side....we call him Billy Elliot!
I bet we sound like a right mixed bunch! lol
