had a weigh in a couple of days ago and I've gone up 0.7 kg, but all my measurements are down, so I'm not sure how to feel. I've been extremely good, been out hill walking and running, and even some weights, and only fallen off the wagon a couple of times food wise (even then nothing too drastic)

So instead of getting down about it I'm doubling my efforts in the gym, and running like a gazelle albeit a chubby one.

I landed after about 7 hours flying about half an hour before the weigh in so it was Airline induced fluid retention, does that exist? please say that exists

Measurements down and weight gain?

I take the optimistic view ... A bit of water weight and increased muscle mass.

I know, everything about me says massive weight loss, face, belly, can feel my ribs. Wondering about laying off the running/hill walking a bit, my missus reckons my legs are pretty defined at the mo, dunno about that though. feeling bloody fantastic mind and down 3 notches in my belt from my first weigh in, wearing shirts and trousers that haven't fit me for years, so I really shouldn't complain

Indeed but sometimes we do, it's not English to be completely happy.

Forget the numbers, go by gut feel.

Literally.

This doesn't make sense. At the beginning of last week we got off an 18 day cruise, the food was mainly unhealthy and I'm sure that I ate too much sugar and probably a few other things. On Thursday I had my chemo along with the pathology tests, the results were the best that they've been for about three or four years. Should I change over to junk food?

Don't go putting ideas in my head haha. That doesn't make sense to me but then I'm no pathologist, did you have a word with him over a bucket of KFC?

You were relaxed. Stress can affect all sorts of systems in the body. You had a break from all the medical/dietary/health and lifestyle worries, which gave your body the time it needed to try to restore your systems.

Don't change over to junk food but try to build a stress free part of each day into your routine. I was taught calming, deep breathing exercises to help with my MS which is definitely worse when I'm stressed. Maybe a little meditation might help?

Good for you Ste, keep it going, it'll be worth it in the end when the Mrs is running her hands down your six pack!

BTW, don't worry about weight, I weigh a lot more than I look too but I just put it down to brain size....

haha, she was shocked last time I went home that's for sure. weight seems to have evened out at 88 Kg for the mo, but went for a 6k run this morning at 4 and feel bloody great. had a cheat day yesterday (bowl of trifle) down 3 holes on my belt, using one that's never been touched in 20 years (it's my lucky belt )
