Someone gave us a massive Union flag to bring along.... so we could 'hang it' from our windows whenever England was playing sport.
I never hung one in the UK so I wasn't going to start when I lived on the other side of the world. It made its way to the charity store apparently.

We're heading for Brisbane and have a Galileo thermometer, which looks all nice and shiney, but the problem is it only goes up to 24° Celcius.

What other things should we not bring if we have them?
What things did you take over but never used?

We were north of Brisbane when we first arrived in Australia. At work, Himself was issued with a hugely thick padded jacket that wouldn't have been out of place at Thredbo. Him and the other big jessy engineers persisted in wearing them all winter (even whilst in the office!!) while I was strolling into work in shirt sleeves!

Good thread!
I have a water cooler here - do you use them in Brisbane?
Get rid or keep?
I've started to look around to see what I'm taking - got the removal quotes last week and i'm a bit over a 20ft - so need to get rid of some stuff.
lol
2 weeks to our validation trip

Not really something I decided I didn't want when I got here but -
When we arrived at Brisbane airport we went through customs and out into the arrivals hall where I found a £5 note on the ground. What am I going to do with that? It isn't worth exchanging because after the fees and the shocking exchange rate I will end up owing the bank at least $20.
