Of course, a cynic might suggest that the TV news organisations have skewed the exit polls so as to introduce a fragment of doubt into the proceedings - to keep the viewers and have something to fill the hours.

It's the BBC that gives the cons 316.

The TV companies banded together to do one exit poll. So no way to compare those. Not sure the YouGov poll is anything like as large.

Anyone been able to find a working TV feed?

BBC World News are streaming the entire results night live. We have it on in the office here...

Looks like Farage may have failed to win his seat. He said he'd go as UKIP leader if he didn't win it...

Had hell of a problem keeping it up ....

Switched to a different browser, made sure the smartDNS was out of the way, and finally got a stable connection.

I have that channel on my Fetch TV box, so no faffing with browsers required.

Nice to see full counts delivered by a proper returning officer in a matter of hours after the polls close.

It's looking like the exit poll is being backed up by the early results. Further, it's looking like the voters that deserting the Lib Dems have been jumping to the Tories, rather than Labour.

And Nuneaton that just came in - a swing to the Tories when Labour were looking to win it.

It does look like it's the Lib Dems that are doing it.

Tory majority???

Scotland have really put the boot in for Labour. Looks like Ed might be looking for a new job. And a 20-year-old MP in Paisley for the SNP. The swings are massive.

Nuneaton 4% swing to Tories. They could scrape an overall majority if this is reflected nationally.

They really have put the boot in. I think that's the only real way to describe it...

The end result might well result in a majority Tory government - and their policies. Which would be kind of funny - winning the battle and losing the war.
