In case you haven't worked it out, I'm pissed. I'm pissed because I used to stand up for those people you talk of, and I admit I was wrong, they AREN'T capable of operating a democracy.

That's the point, democracy doesn't work. Trump was obviously, flagrantly, a liar that had no answers and was not fit to run. And they voted for him.

You need to face it - the evidence is there, writ three times over, democracy is dead.

people like you have been telling these '****wits' to think for themselves and not believe what they read in the papers for years. With little or no pro-trump press, they've done exactly that, you should be patting them on the back old son. Perhaps they just didn't want a founder member of ISIS as president ;)

That's the point - think.

They didn't.

That's why I'm angry - democracy doesn't work, cannot work, if people won't think.

And it's been shown a few times now - they won't.

they have though, they just disagreed with you. If Trump had been up against a superior candidate you'd have a point, but he wasn't. A narcissistic lying loud mouth versus a devious arms dealing murderer. some choice I reckon

Even if every lie trump told about Clinton was true (and they weren't, obviously), she would STILL have been a better option than trump.

Another Brexit, people voting for change and feeling lost with the current political system. An interesting road ahead...

Would you have been angry had Hilary had got in, and those who voted for her voted on the back of a lie about Mexicans, which the press edited to suit and did not contain the full context of what The Don said?

Would you have been angry if Bill Shorten had been elected on the back of lies about Mediscare?

Of could you would not have. You only claim people don't think when your side doesn't win.

Awesome news.

The shredders will be running all night at the DNC.

Prepare for the mother of all stock market crashes.

The working class populace attempt to stifle globalisation is everywhere. In some nations it comes out by voting the left, others the far right.
An interesting proposition Trump becoming the leader of the free world. Just what he can deliver besides the bluster remains to be seen. It certainly is two fingers to the ruling elites from both sides of the equation.

Medicare overhaul puts patients at risk, doctors unimpressed

Well, three points:
  1. Trump isn't going to stop globalisation. Trump has exported jobs to china in the past.
  2. Trump isn't going to the 'leader' of the free world - he's going to be quarantined at best, and played at worst.
  3. Trump is PART of the 1% - the only two fingers will be a victory sign.

Regardless of the sneering can he deliver any of his promises? He is hardly anti establishment in the true sense. Cut taxes yeah sure a typical right wing ploy. Just how is getting America to work going to pan out ? Who is going to pay for his election speech infrastructure program. Not to say building up the military expenditure.
Or healing rifts within the traditional Republican Party for that matter.
A new deal for forgotten Americans? I don't see him as a Johnston but time will tell.

Indeed. It does remain to be seen. He has a lot of promises to realise and uphold, but he is a businessman afterall, and maybe that will be a good thing going forward. Who knows.

Thankfully I don't have any investments in the stock markets. ;)
