The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?
Clinton ultimately bears more responsibility than anyone else for Trump's success. The high-up Dems are up there with her as well in terms of shouldering the blame.
I think they thought that the Republicans didn't have a single, decent candidate, so that whoever gets the Democratic Party nomination virtually automatically becomes the next President.
Enter Hilary... secret help from Dems in charge of the process and rigged primaries... got the nomination. "Yippee, I'm the next President." Errr, not quite...

If Sanders was the new President, the world would be singing and rejoicing instead of having a melt down.

Good article, there's another interesting link in it as well:

If security measures are unfair to some non-citizens, but protect the American people, certainly his duty is to the American people first.
His choice of words was very poor in the current PC climate. It doesn't even seem likely in the end ten million + people will be deported judging from comments made by some of his surrogates and advisors. I heard somewhere the difference between Trump supporters and opponents was that Trump supporters didn't take his words literally but took him seriously- but opponents took his words literally but didn't take him seriously.
Are the Saudi Arabians "racist" because they are so strict against taking in refugees ? Is controlling a border and enforcing visa rules racist ?

He'll build a wall at the Mexican border;
He'll ban Muslims emigrating to the USA.
If he doesn't build the wall and they don't curb the Muslim intake then he is a liar as well as being a racist which is there for all to see and hear.
It won't be official policy to call some women dogs and make ridicule of disabled people but he did, time and time again.
Trump is a severe embarrassment to the Republican party hierarchy in that he managed to get the endorsement and then the Presidency. The party of Lincoln comes to Trump.

To quote another loudmouth American - 'you cannot be serious'. Your test of whether Trump is a racist or not is by referring to official Republican party policies and ignoring all he said many times to the world:
He'll build a wall at the Mexican border;
He'll ban Muslims emigrating to the USA.

Banning Muslims isn't racist, as Muslims are of every race.
Did he choose his words poorly, or pander to groups to win the election ? Of course. Yes he may be embarrassing- but if establishment Republicans and Democrats paid attention to the real worries of millions and not ignored such worries, he wouldn't have been elected.

Now building a wall is a matter of border protection. The US along with every country has a degree of border protection. Some have the luxury of a natural border like a sea, some have neighbours who are happy not to cross at will, some have neighbours where they are allowed to cross at will.
If you can't control a border which is long and isolated in many parts, especially when that border delivers society crippling drugs along with humans, there aren't really many other options available.
I'm actually surprised, given the drug super highway from central and south America, that the Mexican US border doesn't have a wall already.

Because those 4 million votes counted for nothing, the system saw to that and the left were overjoyed, at that part of the result at least. UKIPpers calling for proportional representation were swiftly told to button it and deal with the result. Now the boot's on the other foot isn't it?

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?
It shows a truly worrying level of stupidity.
Just think what's going to happen when automation really starts to bite and 10,000 at a time are sacked to make way for a mainframe. When unemployment is 20% and climbing.
They are already not happy with relatively beguine circumstances; they are going to be rioting when that happens. And the likes of Trump, May, Trunbull aren't going to support them, they are going to blame them.
There's a lot to be said to being well out of the way.

One horrid Yank weighing in. This was a random event that could have swung the other way. We create narratives to make sense of things and understand why things happen in the world.

It should be surprising that people don't want to face the truth, but then again, we apply rule 1.
Yes, people were stupid, the evidence was laid out, and it was damning. The fact that things aren't going as their media borne aspirations say they should is making them more stupid - in a world that's getting more complex, is about to get much harder, and where stupidity is going to hurt.
Thing I've begun to understand - there is an Axis of Stupid forming :
- The UK and Brexit (and scottish independence for that matter)
- The US and Trump/Far Right repubs
- Australia and still having the Coalition after they singularly failed in their first term, and still fail to have any plan.
- France, and the extreme fascist right
- Most of MENA and their regression to religious barbarism
- The SJWs and their "I can block out the real world with a safe space"
- Russia sucking Putin's dick, because he's a 'strong' leader.
About the only major player not in that Axis is China, so guess who's going to get the blame. And it's going to get much worse. GFC II is still a likelihood (more so the more the Axis takes hold) and automation is coming along to make more unemployed at a time when there's nobody that can or wants to plan.

Automation is creating employment, the Coalition have been very successful in their first term, etc, etc, etc.
For these reasons, the facts are tripping up your agenda.

His position about the inflow of groups from a standpoint of security or the economy there are a fair amount of people who agree with who are not racist.
If security measures are unfair to some non-citizens, but protect the American people, certainly his duty is to the American people first.

Hi choice of words are very important. His supporters have no grounds to think his words are just words and to not take him literally. People who didn't vote for him rightfully didn't see a need to take him seriously as they had no idea just how far against Clinton America was/is. The DNC had the numbers to think the same.
Also, don't assume that I think border control is racist. I don't. But did Trump take out a full page ad on the the Italian mafia or the hundreds of thousands of illegal Irish immigrants? Border control isn't merely about Mexicans or Muslims.
But the biggest problem I see with Donald Trump is the fact that if he can't be taken literally, no-one knows what he stands for. And if he has to be taken seriously, he'll run the country like a dictator. All of you who are against communism, I can't see how this decision brings you closer to a non communist world.
(btw, just to clarify for the audience who like to call some of us 'west haters', I'm not a communist)
