It's not her kids (presumably your brothers as well) fault that their mother doesn't send a card so why penalise them?

My mother has always favoured my sister's two girls over mine and my brother's children. They all know it and can't be arsed to worry about it. She also favours my sister massively over me and my brother. It's her problem, not ours. Your girls are old enough to know that life is not all sweetness and light and sometimes people don't like or bother with others, just as much with family members as with anyone else.
Thanks Moneypenny, I appreciate the comments. You're right shit happens and perhaps my first post did seem a bit angry. I have learned not to write posts in the heat of the moment but wanted to let off a bit of steam. A lot of underlying stuff has gone on in the past but like I said I chose not to send either of the niece and nephew a card as I thought she had stopped it, like we agreed for Xmas. The advice on here has been noted and it has been good to see how some other people deal with situations like this, rather than make sweeping generalisations like others have done.

It should've been "My SIL didn't send a birthday card to one of my children", and I would not have even clicked on it.
I apologise to Mrs JTL for not having the correct thread title but in my eyes one child has been treated differently and considering you would not have even clicked on it you have spent a lot of effort replying to it. I came on here to ask advice on the situation not to be told how to word a thread title. However, I appreciate your view.

Now see, you went wrong by having two the same I'm a mixed twin and it was totally impossible to get the same present for us both, especially back in the 70s when it was dolls for girls and toy soldiers for boys

It's a bit cheap though. It's like those poor buggers that have a birthday on 25th December and only get one present

Gee wouldn't it be shit to be a twin born on 25th December and then have to put up with 1/4 of a present!
