Top loaders are absolutely rubbish. Have you seen the advert as to why people prefer them
cause they can't be arsed to bend down and put clothes in a front loader.

Well I had a dog and boy did she bark!
Toploaders are worse than front loaders by design, Toploaders only have centrufugal spin so don't jumble up the clothes in the water to get a good wash. A Frontloader also has gravity to cause the clothes to get nicely pounded. The ex has a new F&P toploader, and I have a 5 year old frontloading zannusi, mine washes just so much better.

I prefer front loader, much better performance IMO. Although hubby says his ex used to 'kill' a machine a year by overloading it??? Now that is just stupid - I make mine last for at least 5 years - for a family of 5 and now kids almost grown and gone expect the next one to last for ever.

The ex? Have I missed something here?

The top loader I have washes well but screws the clothes up terribly!
Front loaders are much better mine have always lasted at least 10 years

i LURVE my top loader!! Clean filter out weekly from middle of drum (it just lifts out) its quick - sure it creases more but hang most stuff on hangers on line and no need for ironing

Well I prefer top loaders 
and from what I can remember, my mums fisher and paykel w/m the filter was in the centre!

I'm renting a place with a toploader Fisher & paykal washing machine and it's driving me mad leaving fuzzy bits all over my clothers everytime I wash :curse: I think the filter is probably blocked but I've looked everywhere and can't find one

Judging by opinion, we won't be getting a toploader for a replacement.
