Smile Thought it would never happen...

...but we finally moved house last week

It was without doubt THE most stressful time of our lives, even moreso than emigrating. Even on the last day we werent sure it would settle on time - the conveyancers wanted $200 and seemed to expect us to stop packing the van and go all the way into town to give them it in cash, then the bank wanted $400 in fees or they wouldnt settle (and they chose to ask for it half an hour before it was all due to happen!) - which on top of what had already happened in the previous weeks and months added up to a complete nightmare.

We got the key Weds prior to settlement so at least we knew we had all day Thurs, got DD's bedroom painted on Weds then moved on Thurs and finished Friday morning. Friday I notice all these bites - assume they're mossies but the next morning DH is in the kitchen and there's this huge flea on his leg!!!!!!!!!!! Plus DD had 3 bites on her face and twice I found a flea sitting on her! Bearing in mind we'd had the whole house treated for fleas and spiders a week before we moved in we were not best pleased, and of course it was a long weekend so we spent the weekend bombing the house - they seem to have all gone now crossed fingers and just arguing with the pest treatment company to get our money back.

BUT other than that all is good.... lovely view of trees and plants instead of rooftops and so dark at night you can see loads more stars. On Thurs when me and DD came up to the house there was a huge flock of black cockatoos in the trees as a welcoming committee.

At long last I feel I am home.

I'm scratching me head now. Good luck in your new home, hope the unwelcome visitors leave soon.

Hope the fleas are sorted and it's now HOME. A few more weeks and the hassle of the move will be behind you. Hope you're very happy there.
