Things you notice taste different in Aus/UK

Re: Things you notice taste different in Aus/UK
According to my kids
McDonalds
KFC
Milk
Chocolate
Apple juice
Chicken nuggets
Battered Fish
Crisps (chips)
when we first got here, neither of them would eat McDs and pretty much moaned about everything else on the list (except for chocolate), but L will eat fish here, whereas in the UK she wouldn't touch battered fish. S will still not eat crisps.
From that list, it looks like I feed my kids cr@p, but these are the things they moaned about. Everything else has been ok
For me it's
Chilli powder
Fajita powder
Enchilada mix - all 3 Old el Paso, which I used to buy in the UK. They are all completely different here.
Curry pastes seem stronger here.
Wraps ie fajita, burrito, corn wraps etc. They are so small here

Mangoes, obviously.
Milk is much nicer here.
Bacon is not
Tap water, Sydney tap water might be the best in the world.

Generally better in the UK:

Think it may depend on your location 'zulu. Found some nice cheeses here (a local dairy makes some devine soft and blue cheeses) and local butcher is from Scotland and makes his own Lincolnshire and Cumberland sausages But in general, I would agree

As for curry pastes the only ones I can find here anyway are Pataks and Sharwoods, both of which are from the UK.
I think the homesickness clouds our taste judgements.

I was intrigued by the old el paso thing because I can't say I noticed any difference. So I went to our cupboard for a look at a burrito kit we have and on the back it says product of the EU(Spain).

just checked my el Paso Chilli and Fajita packets and they are both made in Aus.
The enchilada packs are definitely different as in the UK, you get 2 sachets of passata and a sachet of dry mix, which you then combine. Here, it is already done (and very bland, I had to add quite a bit of chilli).

The latest i've found are star bars (yum). Packaged in Australian packaging, made in Ireland.
And if you're mad for some English cadburys the wish upon a star things are 100% Birmingham made.
If you miss decent bacon go do the deli and buy some shortcut. It's as near to Danish as your gonna get.
As for curry houses I was talking about this to an Indian friend of mine at work a while ago. He recons most of the curry here(in oz) is current authentic Indian and the curry we get in the UK is the traditional pre 1960 curry that have been passed down through a couple of generations and altered for British tastes along the way. I let him taste some of my Sharwoods and he said it was shite. Oh and he also said that from his visit to London nearly all the Indian places he went to didn't have any actual Indians working there.

I would say thats wierd how one is European and the others are Australian but recently every other item I seem to be able to buy from Woolworths at the minute is a product of Europe. Don't really notice until I get home.

A lot of things may be made overseas, but often are made specifically for a particular market. So the stuff made in Ireland, Birmingham etc, is likely to have been made specifically for the Aus/NZ market. The same in the UK for things made abroad (see what I did there).
Not a hug fan of Cadbury's, bit too sweet for me. Don't have a problem with the chocolate here TBH. Unlike most American chocolate which is
