Going to see the Opera House and Harbour bridge, surely two of the most iconic things in the world. If it was England they'd probably try to fence them off and charge a fee to get in.

All of the festivals, and there are heaps around Mellie
Public transport on NYE and some other holidays
Stacks of parks/ botanic gardens/ etc etc etc so many in Mellie

Coolart wetlands is another of the now free parks with historic buildings to wander around. I can recommend it as a good place to have a picnic and do some bird watching (even if you're not into watching birds).
