Am I a bad person because I don't want to grow my own fruit and 'veggies' - I just want to go to the shops and buy them - feel like I have stepped back in time - my god all the girls my age at work are knitting and having tupperware parties - I feel like I am in a time warp! Is all Australia like this or just here in Canberra? Help!!

I am still buying my veggies and fruit from the local grocers (not the supermarket - ewwwww) and meat from the butchers - but that's only because I haven't yet found my lifestyle block complete with mango tree and enough grass to keep a milk cow and a few fluffy cuddly lambykin thingies (that I will eat when they get big enough).

Sounds like I'm not alone, thank goodness for that! I want to be able to go to a supermarket and do all my shopping in one place (alcohol and all). I want to be able to go out with mates who don't spend the night discussing recipes and diets and how much healthier i'd be if I gave up meat, or talking about sewing patterns and tupperware and dishcloth parties! I don't want to spend my time gardening, and I can't afford investment properties. Qld is obviously in the same timewarp as Canberra.......

They would faint if I mentioned having an Ann Summers party - if you can't grow it or sew it, it's not worth mentioning!!!!

The only food type shop I visit now is the butchers! Its very liberating to go back to the basic way of living, its also fullfilling and gives you a sense of being in charge of your life!Did you know you can wash your clothes in the car whilst driving?lol Thats another story!Embrace it,its the way forward!

Yes all people in Canberra are just like those in your workplace and all people in Australia are too....one big timewarp...must go, got a jumper to finish...
