I'm secretly disappointed they didn't say 'what a good idea, Dreamy, have all this free stuff because we love you'

That's the only reason I emailed

If they had, they would have added "Pick up only"

I'd have got my Mam to go and pick it up.

(It's a good thing to give oldies something important to go, helps keep their cognitive facilities working. Now, don't you have some grass to mow? )

This was my reply;

Dear SC,

Many thanks for your comments.

Our Support Team are aware of how keen the Australians are to shop on our Website and they are working hard to hopefully bring this service to you as quickly as possible. Unfortunately at the moment we do not have any time scale for this.

Thanks again for letting me know.

Kind regards

This has happened a fair bit and will do so.

The brands I use have shifted manufacture from England to China (what's new) They do seem to have retained some quality - and still come in over Next etc.

my reply

Dear Margaret,

I'm sorry to say that at the moment we don't ship goods to Australia, I am very sorry for any disappointment this will cause.

Our International Shipping service is still quite new and the countries included are all areas we have had high volumes of requests to ship to so it may be something we do in the future. If this is the case, please be assured it will be advertised on the website. I have passed your interest on to my Business Support team.

I hope this helps with your query. Thank you for showing an interest in Clothing at Tesco.

Kind regards

My reply from Tesco

Thank you for your enquiry. I'm sorry to say that at the moment we don't send goods to Australia.
However, our international clothing service is still quite new so it may be something we do in the future. I have logged your interest to our Support Team so when they are looking at countries to expand to they can see the level of interest Australia has. If Australia is then added, please be assured it will be advertised on the website.

I hope this helps with your query. Thank you for showing an interest in Clothing at Tesco.

Kind regards

If you really want to get action you have to bypass the 'customer ignoring service'.

Buy some Tesco's shares, then turn up to the AGM and get to ask a question of the board, preferably with some facts.

Remember the maxim of business "Customers are a bloody nuisance" - particularly in big business those with the power to make decisions focus on the city and the money, paying for serfs to keep the unwashed at bay. And for Tescos the unwashed is about right.
