Sorry NickY, I know the Greeks are supposed to have originated the meal...saw it on Shirley valentine - but I was out voted by wife..who always counts her vote as 2-1 and she prefers Doyles!

while the ‘Seared Scampi and Tea Smoked Potato with Cabbage and Smoked Bacon’ made me cry. I don't like the idea of food making me cry - would rather a different emotion but possibly not with Hels
Will check out the web site though, thanks.

Makes a change to see desserts that don't all have chocolate on as well.

Doyles do good fish and chips - there's no doubt about it - but what you get is standard fish and chips, tartare sauce that tastes like it comes out of a bottle, boring salads - for an absolutely extortionate price. They only get away with it because they're famous and every visitor to Sydney wants to go there.
There are other places, that do better seafood, in just as nice a setting as Doyles, where you don't get that 'I've been ripped off' feeling.

I don't have a sweet tooth anyway... so I don't care about the chocolate.
Some bugs would go down well though, I feel, with a nice glass of semillon chardonay, very chilled.
I'd like a table with a view.
