Default Sydney prices

I browsed the food prices at Woolworths today.... Yikes! A medium sized jar of Nescafe = 8 UKP, a lettuce = 2 UKP. Everything seemed to be twice the UK price!

...And elsewhere a "chock ice" iced lolly = $4.50

I've taken a cursory look at that already and it doesn't look good. So the progress update so far is I'm going on a massive diet, will take strongly to "grow your own" and will invest in a two-seater sidecar for my motorbike . ....Next?

I think the cost of the flight to Brisbane is likely to negate any savings I might make.

Australia isn't as cheap as it used to be infact anyone who moves here thinking it's cheap in terms of housing, food, clothes etc is kidding themselves

It's just a different kind of life. Same shit, shinier bucket -that's all

Enjoy your time here mate and great that you are gaining a realistic perspective

I have been "reliably" informed that the price of lamb will go up significantly this year too...
