Put gags on them to stop them drinking it - makes me feel queasy just thinking about public pool water  How much gas do you get through?

Aha, I see. Yes anything less than that is a bit nippy!

Would love to have an all year round heated pool, but then would probably find it too cold to get from the house to the pool...:(.

Yes it's a problem but the spa is 37.5 so you soon warm up :)

Yes and a lot cleaner. My two eldest boys have both had rotavirus (water borne gastro) and been hospitalised. Both had just been in public swimming pools.
(Our 5 month old has had two out of three vaccinations (not injections) against rotavirus, so hopefully I can breathe a sigh of relief when they all get to school and go swimming. I know it won't avoid gastro per se though).

My son has finally gotten rid of a chronic MRSA ear infection more than likely picked up at the public baths.

I'm not sure  but if you really want to know I'll try and pm you when the bill comes through.
Mind you, like with most things it evens itself out over the course of a year. Our Jan/Feb electric bill was horrendous, but then I was pregnant, had a newborn, plus Grandparents in the house, so aircon was a must. We've barely used the electric in the winter for heating (must be acclimatising at last - whoever would have thought of putting a jumper on ). We won't use the gas for heating to pool in the summer as much, so it's horses for courses, or something :o

Oh my goodness, the poor little guy. Ear infections are nasty. Not sure how to avoid these things

Hope he's fully recovered
