I've noticed some plants grow better than others - think they're all of the weed variety

Yup- when I came here I tended what would have been a tender pot plant (not THAT sort of pot- I mean one that wouldn't grow outside as it gets too cold) but then I discovered it was a noxious weed, so I had to pull it up. All the plants that aren't weeds are the only things to die/be eaten by possums!! The rest grows vigorously, defying my attempts to destroy it.

Don't be hard on weeds, they are only plants growing in what you feel are the wrong places.

Well according to the government/council there are at least 10 weeds classed as noxious and to be removed as they take over the bush and kill off the natural vegetation. Although technically they are just plants growing in the wrong place, they definitely need to be eradicated.

Now give me a large glass of wine please.

I had a few large ones last night. Surprising really that I could remember a flower called hydrangea, but not surprising that I couldn't spell it
