I will have a look. I'm not worried about the kids. They are 19 and 17 now. More so me that will be hiding behind fingers.

Just started watching it. Winona Ryder is really good in it.

Also, it's not very unlike ET.

Got an email from iinet and they've now gone to unlimited broadband plans. I was on 1TB which I could never use up (and I download and stream like a demon) but unlimited is better

I watched the first 2 episodes of Stranger Things and it's quite ok, a decent family show (so far) with an adventure element.

I do like the acting though, especially when compared to another Netflix production: Between. :)

Mr. Robot is another good show, though a bit messed up, not for kids, and you need to find a nice balance as to how many glasses of wine you drink before watching it. I'd say you need at least 1/2-1 bottle p/p before you hit play...

Overall the best find of the year so far has been Tyrant. You get into it straight off the bat, from the very first episode (none of this "give it at least 3 episodes before you decide to give up" nonsense), and you'll find both strong scenes as well as hilarious ones that will have you struggling to stop laughing.

No Optus signal where I live and I'm not wasting my money on their FetchTV solution.

Kodi to the rescue

Netflix now have 'Still Game' in their library. I hadn't seen it before. It's really hilarious.

Foxtel trying to take on Netflix, with a month-to-month, no contract, no equipment offering.

Foxtel Play streaming app, Foxtel Kids app, HBO and Game of Thrones streaming deal announced

Still bundles, and still likely to be overpriced, but if you need it for sport.....

Yep, although they'd probably just let it die or mutate.

I've also thought that they would be sensible to do a proper NowTV type offering, but with 4K. A cheap, subsidised box that you can lock subscribers into, say for $40, would find takers I'm sure.

It's a start, no doubt about it, and they know quite well from their experience back in the UK that sports can be the deciding factor in getting/keeping subscribers onboard.

Having said that I have also heard rumours that Netflix is planning on entering the sports (live) streaming market... :)

Series 2 of Narcos is pretty good but I get a feeling that they are going to string it out too much

I know it's not new, but we are enjoying Making a Murderer on Netflix - documentary excellence

I liked that about Banshee - 4 seasons and it's done. No more. No stringing out with increasingly weird story lines.

Exactly. Narcos is historical fact and we know the conclusion - they can only stretch the story so far

A good example of this is Under the Dome. It was not a very good book with events that take place over, if I remember correctly, over a couple of weeks. The TV series (which was basically crud) stretched out to 3 series and nearly 40 episodes!

Ridiculous

I couldn't get into that at all - it was garbage. just finished Wayward Pines though, which I really enjoyed. Not sure it needs a second series though. I'll give Season 2 a try, but looks like it could be guff.
