Here's the explanation https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/188144

I hadn't used my Chromecast in a while. Found a load more apps for it on the Play Store from last time I used it. Somewhere I found the BBC breakfast news. Mrs Beoz got a little homesick.

Well honestly you can throw everything else out of the window.... Trust me, Kodi the latest rendition of XBMC then under the Lambda repository "Genesis" I've thrown everything I can think at it, even the latest "Gourmet Farmer afloat" and it comes up with a stream... TV info, episode info, all with a fantastic GUI like netflix.

Every single movie and every single tv episode that is on the net, this thing will present in a fantastic easy to use manner.

110/100 +++++ By far the best thing I've ever seen in relation to streaming TV.

Took me a while to set up, there are tutorials... you need to use the TVADDON.AG site rather than super repo as Genesis under super repo is broken.

This is all available under those XBMC android boxes as well. Personally I'm using my Acer Revo windows installed HTPC, Which is 3 years old now.

It's got every series of Location Location Location.... Wifes watching the real housewives of Melbourne on it right now.

Yes upon checking although it had the link, art work and episode synopsis for all of the Aus ones, There were no live links available anywhere on the net. All the UK ones was there though... I will admit it is geeky to set up. Doable though as there are plenty of really good step by step youtube tutorials. All you have to do is follow the very clear instructions. I ended up settling for Matthew Evans, Gourmet Farmer afloat

I watched the first episode of Patrick Macgoohans "The Prisoner" on it last night though with my 17yo son... Not seen any of that since the 60's or very early 70's.... They depicted decent looking cordless phones in the first episode (1967 !!!) which really surprised me.

My son also found a couple of obscure Skate Board movies on it, which really amazed him as he had been looking for them.

Did he find "The search for Animal Chin" ? Great skateboard film from the 80's. Also there's a fantastic snowboard movie from the 90's. "The adventures of Boozy the Clown". Would be keen to know if they are up there.

You should be able to get those on a Smart TV via "You tube".
Same as The Prisoner by the looks.

Looks good, I'll check that out.

Anyone else like Trailer Park Boys or is it just me?

Trailer Park Boys (TV Series 2001–2016) - IMDb

Just binge watched season 9 on Netflix, hilarious, as usual.

Just to point up, don't bother trying to pay HBO for access to Game of Thrones - they have been going after those using SmartDNS and VPN services for being outside their geoblock - sending emails saying they will cancel their service within days.

It's almost as if they WANT people to torrent it...

May not matter soon...

Government could block VPN services under new copyright legislation

More big stick thinking here...

Remember when we had government agencies saying Australian citizens were good to avoid geoblocks?

Tony Abbott; actively doing as much evil as he can before they finally kick him out.

Ha ha. Like that's going to happen. I log into a VPN on daily basis to securely access my work servers in the US.

Ha! That won't stop them! You'll end up needing CertIV in Approved VPN User and have to get a security clearance to get it!
