Watched the first episode on Hulu, liked it. It looks like I'll have to pirate the others.

Yeah, that's the one.
I couldn't believe that pregnant Aboriginal women were forced to dive and collect oysters

I think it's Sydney next week, it should be good.

Streaming update:

BBC iplayer has been running much better recently and hardly ever buffers now - both on Roku and PC

4oD and 5 on the other hand are buffering terribly at the moment - and the pommy ads on 4oD are f**king annoying. Tried to view a documentary on 5 the other night and it was unwatchable due to buffering - on the same connection that I had been streaming HD perfectly on Netflix a few minutes earlier

Roku have done a firmware update on the 3 model that has affected its DNS settings - now a pain to stream Netflix on it. The Roku 3 is a great bit of kit but the inabilty to change DNS settings on it is now a major PITA. The UK model is unaffected

I'm about to order an Amazon Fire TV (USD99) so looking forward to seeing how it goes. It does look good and can change DNS locally - yay!

I've noticed that too, it's got a lot better.

You need to set up 3 or 4 static routes in your router for Google DNS. I was going to ask if you'd been affected. I was able to sort this out within 30 minutes. I can send you a link of you want.

I'll have to check this out, I'm looking at Chromecast too but my TV only has 3 HDMI slots and Roku and WDTV take the first 2.

Apparently Roku has secret High Def porn channels, have you heard about these?

A link would be good but I tried a static route and the Roku worked - after a fashion, but some of my other streaming devices, notably Samsung Smarthub didn't want to know

I'm therefore not using my US Roku and may sell it

Ultimately, devices where you can change DNS are better

I was just in JB and was surprised to see that they are selling the Aussie version of Chromecast for $49 (AUD54 on Amazon.co.uk) - which is a fair price. But it's the same old story - crappy Aussie content and hard-coded Google DNS. Static routes or VPN will get around this but not worth the hassle IMO when there are easier option out there

Amazon is currently selling the Fire TV and a 16Gb Fire HDX tablet for USD249 - which is incredible value

Porn on Roku? Never knew but there is enough free stuff on the internet to keep me and big Amazulu happy

I'm using my Roku more and more, did you know you can "cast" to your Roku from the Chrome web browser on your laptop/phone or tablet when you are on Netflix, Youtube and Plex? This without a Chromecast, just the Roku.
