Singapore.....

There was a 101 things to do at singapore airport, which has some other activities outside the airport... you'll find it

http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...05593#poststop

there.... i was v bored that day!

I stopped off in SIN a few years ago but the hotel we stayed in was slightly dodgy (peninsula excelsior) - although could be MUCH better now!

Am stopped off again in about 3 weeks, staying at the sentosa resort. booked through Singapore Air Stopovers, $122, will let you know what I think.

We have just done a stopover in KL, its an hours drive from the airport to the city and about £26 in a return taxi. Unless you have loads of time not worth it, we forsake our stop over hotel on the way back and stayed in the airport hotel due to time.

It is a nice city though, the towers look fab at night and its much cheaper than Singapore (singapore dollar v ringgits) the shopping is fantastic, lovely park and bird gardens to take kids round.

:)

We done the same as you Possums, I think I'd try Singapore next, the drive back from KL city centre through the jungle in a tropical downpour with a vomiting three year old and a nine year old screaming she needs the toilet put us off doing it again !!
Heard Sing. airport is fantastic.

Yeah glad we went on the way out though, but yes coming back just seemed pointless, so we used the airport hotel. the superior room cost the same as the taxi! and it was fine plus no need to go through emmigration, obviously couldnt leave the airport though but with just a nine hour stop over that was fine.

The other thing is flights certainly wouldnt recommend Malaysia at the mo, dont know whats going on with them but really gone downhill.

:)
