So to stray off subject, but has anyone heard of Medicals going to oz for a second opinion? When OH saw doc he said all was fine. But I am feeling anxious as we put in spouse visa Jan 4th and haven't got it yet. called case officer and she has left and passed it on. On calling new case worker (who was very annoyed) found out that Oh meds have gone to Oz. called to docs to see what is wrong, but they keep no details. So am now worrying about dear OH ans well as visa, and don't know if to email cranky case worker and ask for details?? Advise pleeeeasss

Hi RachelH and Shiels

We are headed to Queensland, either Brisbane or McKay. Sir has rellies in Brissie (Victoria Point) and I have a brother in Esperance. We went to the World Cup (Rugby of course) and yes, we were there, up in nosebleed territory when Johnny dropped that goal, and apart from the pleasure of all that (and the Melbourne Cup) had a good look around the East Coast, and just LOVED Queensland, so thats where we are headed.

Sir did know that citizenship by decent was poss. It took a while as Grandma had to 're-ignite' her citizenship (which had lapsed) before he could claim his, but that came through last February. At which point we seriously looked at our lives here and decided that moving to Oz was the thing to do.

My sons medical (or non medical as it hapens) was sent to Oz, it took 6 weeks to come back, but I think that was because Christmas caused a delay.

When we had the meds done, we were told that son had protein in his urine, had forgot all about him having it previously as it was about 2 years ago!
I then mentioned about this to the doctor, also said that the hospital had cleared son of any medical condition. He said that to avoid delay it would be best to get any copies of corrospondence between docs and hospital asap. I contacted our GP's and the hosp that we'd attended they sent letters to me and I forwarded them to medicals doctor. The actual medicals were not sent to London until they had all the documents needed. So Australia House got everything together. They did'nt ask for any further info.

Do you have a problem with your meds then? Claire x

Went for medicals December - they sent them to London early Jan. My son is type 1 diabetic. Doctors said - no problem it won't stop him getting a visa.
Had email from co two weeks ago saying his medical had been sent to Health Asessment Authority.
I guess its so they can check - not sure - anyway have heard nothing since.
I was hoping to have been booking flights by now.

Let me know how you get on, with your son.
Still don't know what is wrong with OH. Could be something simple then?
Fingers crossed
