I'm the aussie and we got my hubby's visa the same day we applied for it.
(dont you just hate me;) )

Phoned the embassy in Berlin, made an appointment for 10am,had the interview, went back at 3pm and walked out 15 mins later with the visa in his passport.

The nightmare part was not being able to go to a bar and calm our nerves with a lunchtime schnapps.

PS. we "squabbled" about one of our answers during the initial interview and the embassy guy later said that that was the thing that convinced him we were really married

Hi Struth! Not long now!! You must be so excited/nervous - The hanging about waiting for meds and what not is a pain but before you know it you'll have your visa

Hello everyone. I applied in March for a defacto visa, my Aussie partner is here in UK with me.

I thought some of you might be interested to hear that my ex, my daughters father, has refused to give permission for me to take her, so I'm going through the courts and waiting for a hearing on 30th May.

I'm also waiting for police reports and our meds appointment. I had to send more evidence after my application, so I have a lot to worry about!

Good luck to all you other applicants!

Great news Nicos!! Am having a glass of wine for you!

Well OH has been down to Australia House today prior to a meeting in London to hand in the kid's passport applications. Would you believe it our witness forgot to date and put phone number on one application and I didnt notice........GAAAHHHH now have to go back to her and get her to witness new piece of paper and send it off. Nightmare.

My big worry now is that they come back really quickly recorded deliveyr adn we are going on holiday for a fortnight in a week......if we dont go and pick them up from the post office within a certain timeframe will they send them back to the sender???

KRisty - I think I am rivalling you for worrying now.........and havent even STARTED the visa process.........

You have to provide the info in case they ever need to come to live with you.

Lots of information in the Immigration forum on the subject, do a search there for "non-migrating children" or "non-migrating dependents"

:)
