Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!
I've got a question for those who have applied for their kids Aussie passports at Australia House.
I have just been on the passports website filling in the details for first son....it asks for the certificate number for his Aus citizenship by descent cert. But there is a number at the top and then an entry number - which one is it?? And also you have to have a guarantor who is an Aus citizen to sign the backs of the photos who ISNT related to them, I was going to get my husband to do it but he obviously cant?? Anyone else had this issue? |

It has to be either an Aus passport holder or a person from the list of recommended list of occupations. Like I saw - will find out wednesday if ive done it all ok. Hope this helps |

Hi everyone
Do you know how long it takes to get the childrens passports once you have gone to OZ House? Do they do them on the spot or does it take an age like everything else? Thanks |

Hi
Looks like i'm one in a long line to join this thread lol! My name is Samantha and my OH is the Aussie. He was born in Sydney and had his first steps on Bondi beach (Ah :o ) but moved back here when he was about 3. We have been together for 2 and a half years and moving to Australia has always been a topic of conversation. It wasn't until our recent holiday (not in Auss unfortunatly) that we gave it some real discussion. Now we are in the first stages of doing LOADS of research before giving it the go ahead. Usual worries: how to tell the rents, what jobs to do, will we have enough money etc. He currently works for a soft drink manufaturer (excuse the spelling) and I work for my local council as a benefits assesor but with many years of admin and customer service skills. Not sure how any of this would transfer over in Oz and if I even want to as thinking it could be a good new start for both of us. Very happy to join the Spouse Visa Circle (eventually when we get round to applying) and would welcome any help, support, criticism anyone can give us! We have no kids (at present, want to move before we start) but will be bringing with us two lovely (at times) cats. Feel free to ask any more  |

Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!
Hiya
I'm feeling so nervous for some reason. My husbands medicals are tomorrow and I'm really nervous about it. I'm worried we won't get there in time, that I'll forget something, that we won't be able to find the place. We're having the passport pics taken before we go and I'm even worried about getting to where we plan on having them taken and the machine not working :D Someone please slap me!!! At the moment I'm waiting on the pcc checks, statements from Aussie people and some from UK people (I know UK ones aren't something you HAVE to have, just wanted to as it's nice to have some from my husbands family aswell) and I think thats about it!!! Then we can apply and I'm nervous about that!! (slap me again!!) Anyway, I'm going to sit at home tonight and organise everything and make lists and what to stop me from panicking that we'll forget something. Once I have my list all together I'll post it in here and would appreciate anyone pointing out if I've forgotten something!! Welcome to Samantha and good luck, Congrats to those who have had your visa (You lucky people!!) Speak soon Kristy x |

Welcome to Samantha and good luck, Congrats to those who have had your visa (You lucky people!!) Speak soon Kristy x I think it's totally normal to get all nervous and panicky like you are now! It'll all be fine though, just have to go through it. I bet everyone who has done it already was the same. I know I'm going to be exactly the same when we apply (I'm thinking this summer we'll get all our stuff up together, then send off in the autumn?). I'm already having minor panicks about it all - but that's partly because we're planning our wedding (for next June) at the same time and it's a lot to do at once. I've got a few lists on the go already trying to work out when everything needs doing for the wedding and the visa/move (in fact I've made a Gantt chart - sad or what). Look forward to seeing your one though, it'll be really helpful if you do post it on here for the rest of us to see! Everytime I start feeling a bit organised about the wedding, I then start having a faff about the visa and move, and then when I think we know what we're doing about the move, I faff about the wedding. By the way, when did wedding planning become such a massive crazy business?! I know it was a bit of a money-spinner but the whole thing is insane. There's so much CRAP you can buy - can see why people go mad and spend a fortune (I'm hoping we won't be sucked in). Aaaaanyway, deep breaths, we've got a long way to go yet! Well done to all of you who have got your visas already! |

Well done to all of you who have got your visas already! I know all about weddings, although our wedding was small, I spent loads more than I had planned!! But it was worth it in the end as such a gorgeous day! Luckily I had my mum and my sister visit from the UK to help me out towards the end otherwise I would have gone crazy!!! I will probabaly list everything to do with visa etc at the end of next week - thats when I'm hoping to have everything back. Still waiting on pcc checks though so goodness knows when we will get that back. I'm waiting for the postie every morning to drop them thru the door. It'll be weird being back in Aus and getting the mail from a letterbox at the end of the drive  Anyway I'm in work at the moment and can't chat but will catch up later. Take Care x |
