But I frontloaded everything and didnt have any exsisting medical issues, didnt go overboard on proof of relationship - but provided 2 years worth of pics, joint bank accouts, proof of buying a house - solicitor letters etc etc, car insurnace, joint proof of joining a swimming club, emails from family and friends and 3 declarations - im sure you wil be fine. Did you get Aussie passports for your kids ? Or are they included on application ? Do not worry - no news is good news. They only contact you when your visa has been approved or they need something else . If your application is valid and you pass meds and police checks you wil be fine! I know its stressful, trust me I do, I stil need to apply for my spouse after my PMV visa runs out so wil go through it all again, but less forms to fil and no med or police checks. Breath deeply - you are nearly there!! Everythig will fall into place, thats what my mum keep son telling me and she is old and wise - like an OWL!!
Thanks Jutang, I feel better - thought they sent you an acknowledgement so you're right, no news is good! Our kids have citizenship by descent now so theyre not included on the application - their passports are the next job on my list, but included copies of their certificates. I'm so glad theres this forum, it must be a nighmare without it. Mind you I would be expecting it to be 3 months if I hadn't heard of so many coming through quick! When are you getting married, is it here or oz? Must be a nightmare trying to organize a wedding too! Very exciting though. Hope everything goes well for you. Do you have to wait 2 years before applying for the spouse visa or do you do it as soon as you're married? I presume if you do it right away you don't have to pay for medicals & the full cost of the visa again do you? It costs enough as it is! Mind you was looking at the fees for skilled visas etc - we're getting off relatively lightly! |

Yeh only received an email saying my visa had been approved - I was like you - bricking it, thinking I just want to hear something and then the email came through, so it is a waiting game unfortunalty :( But you wil get there. Shouldnt take any longer then 8 weeks to come through :) We booked the wedding last year and emigrating was a last minute decision as a house we wanted to buy here fell through and I said to OH if we dont get this house lets go back as we are not 100% happy here, was only here for my family not for us, so we decided to do somethig for us. But yeh suddenly I has all this paperwork and wedding to organise grrrrr stress!! But all good now, I was mostly stressed my visa woudnt come through in time for wedding, but it took 3 days!! Woo hoo. Im stil a bit stressed now as we are emigrating and get married @ same time. I should look @ it as an exciting adventure, but its hard not to feel the odd pang of worry - only human!! We are getting married in July near Tweed Heads - Gold Coast QLD. We arrive in Aus beg of July - so have a few months to sort things out -thank God!! Just cant wait until we are emarried and settled !!!! I have until Nov to apply for my spouse, so wil apply in August and get it out of the way. How much are the skilled visa's? Do you have anyone to stay with when you arrive ? |

Apparently oil industries booming out there so no-one seems to think it will be a problem. Just hope we get our house sold now - market seems to have slowed down a bit here but its still ticking over. Estate agents were saying that last year a lot of people from further south were moving up here as property was so much cheaper, but this year a lot of areas in England can't get property sold & thats having a knock on effect here. Never mind thats just a waiting game as well. |
Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!
Thank you everyone who replied to my query, still no e-mail by 1.30pm today. As they say no news is good news. This is such a stressing process!!! Who do I e-mail at the embassy to check they have my application? Sent application down registered post, front loaded police checks but not medicals, applying for spouse visa. Put loads of information in, just hope it was enough:unsure: Hoping on moving to Townsville when we finally arrive, what about everyone else?:D

You must be so busy!!! Are you organising everything from this end, or have you been out to see everything - will your family manage to come? We have relations in perth and geraldton and also in tasmania, but being 6 of us (baby included) I wouldn't like to descend on anyone!!! We plan to get a holiday rental for 4-6 weeks while we look for a longer term rental until we buy somewhere. Hubbie has to look for a job too - we've tried applying from this end but not much luck - most require residency or at least a visa before they'll employ you.

Never mind thats just a waiting game as well. Been real busy!! Have organised it all from this end, but OH family have helped loads - I havent even met the celebrant, my decorator or looked @ evening reception area or beach location, just seen through pictures and contact through email - so when I arrive I wil eventually meet and see everyone and thing - I trust OH mum and sisters judgement so i am 100% confident it will all look good!! At least you have some relations which is good, you wont feel too lost :) OH has to look for work too and me too, but OH may go and work for old employer, if not him prob a friend and sub-contract - he is a carpenter - loads of work on GC. Yep employers wil wnat a visa before thye give you a job and a tax file number, im just gonna use my tax file number from my WHV . It will all fal into place - Australia is the land of opportunity - lots of skill shortage going on - crying out for skilled and trained peeps . You must think positive , the minute you lose faith in all your plans you wil lose it!! So stay positive - its important!! :) Housing market is slowing, but you can always rent ?Just a thought, but interest rates are coming down - apparently its abuyers market |@ the mo, as house prices are going down, but if you can rent it out and wait until yo get a better price, maybe do that ? Yep defo a waiitng game - best things come to those who wait! :thumbsup:xx |

I sent my application off last Friday and i had my medicals on the Wednesday so i'm playing the waiting game now like Morcpom1 and Smellycat28... Didn't think that i'd be checking my emails every spare sec to see if i've received anything but i seemed to be getting obsessed  |

We wil be living the dream soon!! :thumbsup:xx Must be some type of record to get a visa approved in!! Will you get the spouse visa right away or do you have to show them evidence again? I just sent my application recorded delivery with the royal mail, as i sent it last friday i paid £2 extra so it would be delivered before 1pm. I checked it on the royal mails website and it said it was signed for!!! :) So hopefully it's in the right dept now... Bummer - I sent a bankers draft/chq off with my application so there's no way of seeing if it's been paid as the money is taken out right away. Seems like everyone else pays with credit card, i wish i had done now so i could see online whether the money had been taken! Good idea about the meds :) Think i'll give the dr's a call to see if i can get the tracking number off them, but he did say it would take about 2 weeks for my blood test results to get back from the labs. But they should be fine as i've always been healthy and everything else at my med/chest xray was no probs. Yep you're right, we will all soon be over in oz and chilling out in the sun with a well deserved large glass of wine!! :D |
Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!
Hi all - posted on this a few months back and thought I would drop a quick one to explain our process.
We have been married nearly 4 years and hubby sent his application off early January. No frontloading. Contact less than a week later - to say need police check, medical, form 80 etc. Returned those forms a few weeks later then was advised that needed a police check for Canada as we spent 12 months there. That was going to take up to 6 months and I am leaving in APril so wasn't happy, told hubby to count the days we spent there and it was only 11 months 1 week so we have managed to avoid that. Probably should have re-read the migration booklet and could've expected that - so many bleedin forms I tell you what - hard to keep them all straight in my head!! It was SO much easier for me to get a temp visa when I got married here! Anyhoo - medicals done and CO has them today, so fingers crossed the visa will be issued next week. Still can't help bricking it no matter what though - weird but I guess since our future depends on this getting issued it's always going to be a little worrying :p Looking forward to moving to Brisbane!! |
Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!
Its now 10.37. At 9.37 I was lying in bed with a HUGE hangover - was at friends party last night & in amongst sambuca at 2 this morning. When the doorbell rang I kicked hubbie (unwillingly) out of bed to answer it. It was the postie & guess what he had? WOOHOO!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Letter from immi - subclass 100 granted:rofl::eek: Haven't heard of anyone getting a letter - we supplied both email addresses but who cares. Hangover still here but better than what it was an hour ago. In fact, think I'm still drunk.
Hair of the dog tonight to celebrate:beer::beer::beer: Thanks to all, hopefully won't be too long to those who have applied. My application arrived Oz house tuesday - letter to me was posted friday -3 days to process.:eek Must not be busy just now. I'm off back to bed - brain feels like a bag of rusty nails:blink: |
Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!
Congratulations smellycat28!! Thats great news :D
My PSV application arrived on Tuesday as well ... yours must have been signed for before mine - d'oh! :p Keeping my fingers crossed to hear soon!! Good luck with the house sale so you can make the big move soon! |
Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!
Hey congratulations smellycat28! What a great start to your weekend. No doubt you'll be celebrating tonight and have another hangover tomorrow morning! :)

Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!
Thanks everyone - yes I probably will have another hangover tomorrow, but I can truthfully & honestly declare I will NOT be drinking sambuca again in a hurry. That stuff is lethal. At least the visa news has eased the pain a bit.
