CONGRATULATIONS Jutang!

Our visa's been on the cards for two and a half years now, we're finally in the throes of getting ready to post...

Just waiting for everyone to get all the stat decs back to us so that we can post off for our police checks and get the medical sorted. SO NERVOUS!

Just like to wish the absolute BEST of luck to Aussie_Chris - we are in a very similar situation (not married, no kids, only met each other a couple of years ago) so I'll be crossing everything for you all the way

:D

By the way, is it Northlakes Central Coast NSW that you're heading to? If it is I grew up there - that's where we're heading back to when we first get home... :D

Hello! I just sent you an e-mail!! :D

Nah North Lakes is North of Brisbane, it's where we'll be staying to start off with as my parents are living there at the mo.

Will you be anywhere near Newcastle? As I'll be visiting there in March 09 for my bro's wedding!

Should be back on the Goldie by March (I did go to school in Newcastle though) as we're looking to rent again there when we get back. Just spending Chrissy/Jan with the family then heading back up in Feb. So we won't be too far south of you guys. Haven't read your email yet but perhaps we should organise a meet up sometime in Brissy when I get back?

When are you jetting off you lucky thing?

My Brothers Fiancee comes from Newcastle so thats where my bro is living at the moment! It looks lovely there.

You'll be just down the road from us (in Aussie terms!) so yeah it'd be great to meet up in Brisbane. Does your OH like football? Mine is football mad!

Yeah he loves it! Always looking for someone to have a game with too (I just don't live up to his expectations) so we might have to bring a ball with us to the meet up! Looks like we might be spending some nights on our own while they hijack the telly

Well at least they'll have something in common to talk about (apart from being immigrants lol) The football is going to be on at stupid o'clock so I've already said he can sit out in the lounge room and listen/watch it so as to not disturb my sleep!

Do you have work lined up in Aus yet? I've kind of been worrying about that aspect of it, but I have been looking online and there seems to be quite a bit of work in Brisbane. I'll be looking just at call centre type work to begin with, just to get the money in and then look for something I'd prefer to do (although I don't know what that is yet!)

You will be just fine - just remember the stress you had over your bloody visa and remember that it came through in like four days or something stupid. Oh yes, I remember - I thought you were going to have a nervous breakdown! Work will be just the same, I can assure you. I should be okay for work, I'm a qualified vet nurse and my old employers are hoping to grab me back when I return, as soon as a spot comes up. I'm normally such a stress head, but I'm doing well since I met you. I thought, 'hey, that's me! I stress about something, it works out fine, then I find something else to stress about!' So just at the moment I'm thinking of one thing at a time. Visa first, shipping excess baggage second, house third (that's worrying me), work fourth.

Just breathe. Worry first about your stuff arriving in one piece (oh yes, I know what you're thinking), and then worry about the work when you are able to do something about it.

Big hugs XXX

I am a stress head!! lol I do think I've chilled a lot since things seem to be going so smoothly now (touch wood!!) I'm not too worried about my belongings anymore as I figure if they go missing or things break well there isn't much I can really do about that now is there!! So all I'm left with is stressing about work, but I've calmed down a bit about that too (probably until it comes the day when I finish up with my current employer)

You seem to have a system for your stressing, I think I need to get myself one too. As I said in the e-mail, if you need any help with your visa, give me a shout! Did you find out how to go about the Aussie police checks?
