I ran a customer service department before having the kid but at the mo I have twin boys aged 2 years 3 months, and a baby girl aged 11 weeks so at present I'm being a Mum!! I am sure I would be able to pick up something in Customer Service again but who knows? OH is a Management Consultant so who knows..?

Whereabouts in Melbourne are you - I have a second cousin who I'm really close to just near Geelong which I know is further out but she works in teh city, although she is about to have her first baby so may now be off.
Hello

Did Justine work at Dunlopillo as an accountant? Well if she did it is my sister and how did you know her? My dad worked there too! It was great as we used to get lovely free beds and pillows. Ours wore out before we left and bought a new one here. Aussy beds are sized Double which is smaller than a British Double, then Queen which is a bit bigger than a British double then Kingsize which is massive! In Britain its King then Queen i think!!!

Isnt it a small world!

Where did you work then? I have worked all over the place my last job was Ackrills for 5 years working part time. Before that i worked at Boots Opticians and Benefits Agency both for 4 years each. I have had lots of inbetween jobs like CPL, Cheltenham and Gloucester too many to go through!

I am at TAFE here doing Childrens Services Cert III and hope to work in child care (Obviously). It is a job thats in demand so hopefully i will finish it in a year. That is unless nursery dont keep sending Bobby home with the likes of a runny nose! Already had to miss my second day at college because of this. And its not like i can really ask anyone to look after him. That is the hardest part - not knowing anyone only to say hi to.

Sounds like you will be better off as you have a bit of family here to call on. With all your young brood sounds like you could do with all the help anyone offers!! How do you cope? 2 year old twins and an 11 month old. All I can say is good luck on your flight here, knock them out with phenegan and dont fly Qantas!!! They hate kids so i have heard.

Ha ha - yes it is the same Justine!! She even came to my wedding at RUdding in Oct 96.

I knew her when she went out with Lee (!!), I am sure she will remember me from that time as Charlie my husband is an Aussie. Infact I just asked him if he remembered Justine having any connection with Australia - he said yes of course dont you remember she had lived there. I couldn remember but thought then it was the same person!!

I worked (and still do) for a tracking company based near Wetherby. WHo knows what will happen if and when I go back........not yet though as baby is only 11 weeks old (not 11 months!) ANd I will fly Singapore if I can, have always found them the best on trips over there! We took the twins when they were 5 months old with Emirates who werent bad. And last year we went to Malaysia with them and flew Singapore who were as usual fab - we are mad I know but its to meet up with OH's family from brissie - they class it as half way!!

He remembers Sue - did she used to occasionally "go out" with Andy G, Lee's mate - also known as Serial Killer? And he thinks he remembers you vaguely too! It would have been him, he used to go out with Lee a lot years ago! Poor thing rarely gets out of the house these days with three kids.......

Anyway - get to bed!!

And to eveyrone else wheres my congrats for getting the kids citizenship!!! Where are you all!!!!!

I'll start off - I'm Rachel, British, my husband is dual citizenship UK/Australia as he emigrated with his family when he was 4. He has been living back here in the UK (Harrogate in Yorkshire) for the last 12 years with me! We have been married for 10 years and have three kids, twin boys aged 2 and a 10 week old baby girl.

We've talked about going back to Aus for years and never ever been able to make a decision. Various things have kept us here such as his elderly grandparents who we basically looked after until their deaths in 1999 and 2003; and a small investment in a company that we both worked for. He has now left the company and I am on maternity leave.

We have now made the decision that its time to go for it, the ties we have here are my family who I love dearly but I know they will come out and stay for months at a time! My husbands family are mainly in Brisbane - his Mum lives in ST Lucia and one of his sisters in Windsor. His other sister lives in Perth and his Dad divides his time between Tasmania, Cyprus and the UK (Nice!). So its Brissie where we will be heading.

I have just sent off for citizenship for all my kids and once thats through will be heading to London to get their Aussie passports. Then in about JUne time (got a holiday in Majorca in May) I plan to kick off with the actual application (keep putting it off....quite daunting!) and we hope to be in Australia at the latest January 08, may have another Xmas here first. We will see.

Thats me, loads more I could say about me and my family adn my situation but will wait for some more of you to come along first!!

Rachel
My name's OzTennis and I'm an alcoholic.... Nah, sorry, wrong confession speech (don't drink actually which goes against the Aussie male stereotype)

I'm the Aussie, well dual national and my wife is British, well Scottish but since 1707 they haven't been able to issue their own passports.

We met in Melbourne, on the tennis court of course, but we also both happen to be schoolteachers as well. We married in Melbourne but to my wife's eternal regret she did not take out Australian citizenship when we had our 8 years of married life there. We moved from Williamstown to Bendigo and spent 5 great years there and then we moved to Scotland as my wife was very homesick, having originally gone on a 2 year placement but didn't see family, friends and home for nearly 10 years (except for our honeymoon which was a cruise to the UK). We live in a lovely part of Scotland, the south west or the Highlands in miniature as it is sometimes known.

We go back to Williamstown most years for a visit and a while back we bought a property there. At some time in the future we will return to our nice house by the sea with the view of the bay, city centre skyline and the hills beyond but for now we are happy living in Scotland and are fortunate to be able to get the 'best of both worlds'.

When we make the move, we'll have to apply for a Spouse Visa for her but it will be a mere formality and we will be given permanent resident status immediately. I actually came across this website accidently in a search for information on Spouse Visas.

That's it, am I now a fully fledged member of the Spouse Visa Circle?

We did have family living in it/renting it but it is vacant now - waiting for us to visit on holiday and eventually move. Luckily too, we have house and garden etc looked after by family.

We could rent it out to BE's and BV's but we don't want the place wrecked!

We met online in a chat room in 1997 and met in 1998 for real when I flew back to England for 6 weeks and he then later flew to Australia for 10 months. We then moved back to England together in 99 and lived in West London until last Nov when we moved back to Perth!

At the time the application seemed very stressful but in hind sight it was pretty easy, just time consuming whilst collating information. Luckily I am like a magpie and for some reason had visa statements going back to 2000 so we had plenty of documentation to prove our defacto relationship.

The OH has a perm resident visa and has now found work here, contracting for the Dept of Housing whilst I work for a Finance group who specialise in Super and Pensions. We both work in Central Perth.

Anyway just wanted to say Hi....will check back later (when the OH has stopped shouting at me to come watch the DVD he has ready)

Hiya....
Lovely to hear things are working out well for you.....C x
