The DM had a field day with this too. They ran at four different photos with explanatory captions, just in case we didn't understand what was happening! ("Michelle Obama puts her arm around the Queen, who reciprocates..."; "After about ten seconds the Queen pulls her arm away"; "Mrs Obama gives the Queen's shoulder a gentle rub"; "The two women move apart but continue their friendly conversation"). Just surreal.

They also mentioned Paul Keating's quick grope, albeit in surprisingly positive terms.

Don't know if anyone saw the news last night which after a vomit-inducing minute of Brown and Obama staring into each other's eyes and pledging undying love to each other, the BBC correspondent (Nick Ross I think) basically dobbed Gordon in saying that he had in the past blamed the US for the credit crunch! The expressions were priceless - fantastic!

Agree but it is not the same as in many cases the elite do not have the same educational standards, but at the same time can be seriously up themselves.
A lot would find it very hard to cut the mustard with their equivalent in UK.

I agree. The British snob is bad enough but the Aussie snob is something else. In short, our snobs are better than your snobs!!
