top tip for Swervo:

Women love men who are naughty but nice. It's as simple as that. Just a good bloke. Sense of perspective. It gets you everywhere...

So many men try too hard to be nice and overdo it - especially students if I recall. At college, women loved men with a bit of life experience.

What is it if not life experience, wearing a stormtrooper costume to work?

Anyway, we all need to tell our granchildren embarrassing little titbits here and there.... 'When I met your grandfather, he was wearing a stormtrooper costume on the bus'

'What's a stormtrooper, grandmother?'

....explains...

'What's Star Wars, grandmother?'

Without a doubt if he had worn it in the US the gun crazed police would have shot first and asked questions later.

I think some grand kids would be impressed, unless grandfather still wore it of course

Well, esp if it's Darth's costume...

'Why is Grandpa always using the respirator, granny?'

it goes without saying that I voted yes - i would be proud to go to any pub with you dressed as a stormtrooper especially since it will mean you wont be able to shout... ah, the peace and quiet!

BUY IT!

I have said no.

Not because I am awkward like some but because my hubby has always wanted one (to which I've said no - too expensive) and if I vote 'yes' he'll say why say yes to him and not me

He did get the chance to dress as one for the day though, and he loved scaring kids by standing dead still, then suddenly moving!
