Re: Shark Attack
Just been chatting to a friend about this one - can't imagine how horrific it must have been for his mates to pull basically what was left of him out of the water.
Heart goes out to his friends and family. |
Re: Shark Attack
Bunker Bay is a really beautiful spot, been swimming there a few times. Will do again.
Shame about the death though. |

When you say swim, do you really mean 'paddle'.

Being the semi educated, left wing, tree hugging, dole cheating, useless, self appointed brother minder that I am (see Malaysia forum :D ) I do wonder if climate change (natural or otherwise, I'm not going there...) means that we need to take more notice of changing conditions, sea temperatures, resultant shark habits, and so on.

You have a swim you take yer chances ... I hope they leave the shark alone.

Re: Shark Attack
Shark experts say we're simply protecting them better so more of them. Top of the food chain means they eat us - their territory so I guess we just have to stay out of it. Crocs on the other hand, they can come into our territory so maybe a couple of pairs of shoes and a new handbag are the order of the day.

http://www.smh.com.au/wa-news/victim...905-1jt8p.html The Department of Fisheries is scouring waters by air and the Department of Transport is sweeping the region in boats in a bid to locate the shark that killed a 21-year-old bodyboarder at Boneyards break, near Bunker Bay, yesterday afternoon. The shark responsible for this particular fatal attack, wasn't even seen by any witnesses. Even if a dozen witnesses had spotted the shark, there is no possible way that it could be subsequently identified as the culprit by fisheries officers. Yet the state government and the media tell us that they are out looking for the shark in question?!! Why not just tell the truth, which is that the fisheries department have been informed of a shark attack and that fisheries officers have been instructed to find a large shark cruising near shore, and kill it. |
