Re: A question about UV index and Ozone layer
Basically, cities in the world with equal distance from meridian must have equal UV index in the same hours of the day, say at 10:00 a.m. provided that none of these 2 cities have any ozone layer problems. Based on your idea, if we find 2 cities in say Argentina and Australia which has the same distance from meridian, they should not have the same UV index in the same hours of the day because Argentina has not ozone layer problems...

Re: A question about UV index and Ozone layer
The index varies from day to day anywhere depending on cloud type and cover, water vapour etc, even in one location. Insolation at the top of the atmosphere obviously depends on latitude (and therefore angle of the tangent to the earth relative to the sun) but at ground level many other factors come into the index as published.

Sorry - the question was only "Do you agree?" <g>.

You should also compare like with like. Who knows if 20 celcius is the same as 20 Celsius?

Bacially, Bardi, don't go outside without a hat, sunscreen with an SPF of 30+ and UV protecting sunglasses. That goes for both summer and winter.
