Psycological test

Very quick test, it'll only take you 30 seconds. I'm fascinated if this works.

1. Think of a number between 1 and 50, the only criteria is that each digit in the number needs to be an odd number, no even numbers.

2. Write it down

3. Now Scroll down. Does it match? Answer the poll please. No cheating!

Was it 37?

Got the same. What does that say about me?

Re: Psycological test

I got it 'wrong'... but only because I knew what I was supposed to get. :D

The poll results so far are unusual. When asked to pick a number between 1 and 50; but limit it to two odd numbers, supposedly 80% of people will say 37.

Being the great conformist I am, as soon as it mentioned plural digits I plumped for 33 thinking it was in my best interest...

Re: Psycological test

I was thinking of the psychology of the question.

So: question was: Think of a number between 1 and 50

But point 1. make sure BOTH numbers are odd numbers (therefore, you're already thinking double digits)

Point 2. The number 1 is just the number 1, no-one thinks its an odd number, whats the first odd number you think of.... 3

Point 3. Okay you've got your first odd number, gotta think of another one. It can't be 3, you've just done that, so 5? Nope, 5 is too obvious. Lets go with 7.

Thats my theory anyway

I read it as both numbers must be odd so plumbed for 11 the first odd double digit number. I read it to the O/H & she said 57 first time. After a "moment":o she realized & said 35

Can all those who did not answer 37 attend the re-education center tomorrow morning.

Those that answered 13, a van will be sent to pick you up.

Re: Psycological test

Is anyone else reading too much into this???

Is it not perculiar that 30 seconds is relevant to the question in ... question?
Is it a subliminal message to swiftly pick a number that sounds familiar to the 30 seconds that you have just read???

i'll get my coat shall i?

Re: Psycological test

I picked 17 and my OH picked 39 :D

I have my own theory though - I don't think expats are a typical 80% of the population. We must have a screw loose somewhere to put ourselves through all the stress

Re: Psycological test

I never read the question properly and got 29, then I read down and realised I'd messed it up, so tried it on OH. He picked 17.
I'm annoyed now that I can't test myself.
