The only person I have ever heard using the meemo pronunciation was a colleague back in England 15 years ago, and he was a Londoner.

well the latin way of pronouncing it would be how it is spelt, which is unlike either really. The first "a" should be pronounced the same way you would pronounce "mama"

My South African colleague pronounces it meeeeeemo too! Sounded weird the first time he said it but now I am used to hearing it.
