I too am doing the Race for life this year. I have tried to get in for the last three years but so many people do it where i live it has been full so i got in very early this year. I am doing it in Nottingham.
I am doing it for my very dear uncle who died at the age of 52
I helped to nurse him in his last weeks and I think of him every day.

Thanks for your support everyone, it means a hell of alot.

And to all those competing in Race for Life, go for it and lets get as much money as possible.

My family and friends will have the picture of Mum (the one on the website) on our backs, you can spot us a mile away.

Mmmm I'll be weraing a lovely pink cowboy hat and a featheer boa nice.

I might have to do something with a pink theme for my hair.

Cowboy hat sounds good though.

My sis in law got them for us to wear. It funny as she has never wore pink as she isn't girly at all.
When the race is over I shall try and post a piccy.

Last year I made a DVD of it all. I just filmed highlights of the race, put subtitles to it, got some of the runners to wave - including two ladies who had beaten cancer, I put subtitles to it, put the music 'walk 500 miles' from the Proclaimers and did end credits to cancer research and dedicated it to my Mum.

I still watch it, it is as though someone else did it really. Its strange seeing us all in that video and who we are running for, very very surreal.

But a good momento of our day.

I won't do the same this year, I think the first time you do race for life in memory of a loved one, can have quite an impact.
