If anyone has lost a loved one to cancer you will realise how important it is we all assist in raising the funds to find a cure for this cruel, cruel disease!!!
Lets hope she reaches and exceeds her target!!!

Thank you so so much for this thread, seriously.
I was so hesitant in going all out to raise money in case we got our visa and I couldnt do the race.
But its looking unlikely we will be out for then and that I will do the race.
Last year I raised nearly 800 pounds, thanks mostly to people on this site and even made a DVD of highlights of the day, and put 'The Proclaimers 550 Miles' to it.
Its bloody hard making the connection of 'Cancer Research' in the same sentence as your loved one and it makes me want to cry each time I see the 'Race for Life' advert.
Even if they are years from finding a cure, even if what I raise doesn't even touch the surface, Im proud I have at least tried.
Ashamed that I have waited until my Mum died of the disease before I acted, but proud I am doing it now.
Thank you again.

Well done you for doing your bit.
I ran the race for life last year and felt so damn proud of myself when I crossed the line at the end, hopefully I did a little bit to such a great cause.
Ashamed to say that I haven't entered this year cos I didn't think we would still be in the UK
I will still do my bit by sponsoring people who are running the race like yourself.
Good on you, feel proud of what you achieve
