Fruitflies- and loads of pantry moths. (They are having little success in my pantry as I've mothproofed as much as I can.)

I phoned the council last week to ask how to get rid of the fruit flies as everyone I know has them since the floods. The guy I spoke to denied there as a problem. Phoned back to ask another question and got a different guy who said he had the same problem and is taking several calls a day about them. He suggested putting a cup with a small amount of juice, cover it in cling film and pierce small holes in it, this catches them and you throw them out every morning. I read online that vinegar and boiling water in your drains help, so I did that, worked for a day or so and they came back so will do it every night. My kids are absolutely covered in mosquito bites from school and all the parents have the same problem - you can small the tropical strength mozzie spray as you walk in the school gates now.

Dengue is already happening in Cairns and Port Douglas. No major reports in Queensland elsewhere yet....

We've got a few too. They fly around like they own the place.
