Gillard has 2 traits that make her extremely dangerous, she's a bare faced liar and she's incredibly stupid. She sure is stretching the luck of the lucky country.

Whilst food in UK may be cheaper, household and fuel bills in UK have gone through the roof so I'm under no illusion it's any different in any other country. What pisses me off is the focus is on the wrong issues, maybe folk aren't interested in fighting back and telling the pollys to get their act together. It's a bit like the poll tax, people will only get angry when they get charged

It's funny, I keep hearing about these astronomical electricity bills in the UK but it isn't what our friends tell us.

For those who think electricity is reasonable in the U.K it just went up 18% yesterday. Predicted to do the same next year as well

I always thought the poll tax was an extremely fair tax made unpalatable by greedy local labour councils with an axe to grind. Under poll tax everyone of voting age paid for the upkeep of the country. Far better and far fairer than an old war widow having to sell her modest detached home because it cost her the same in rates as the jobless chavs down the street with 6 kids over 18 living in the same house as Ma & Pa all sponging a living yet collectively pooling 10 times the income of the widow.

For me personally I have said it isn't astronomical not that it is reasonable. I don't find it reasonable in either country to be honest. The price rises are exactly what we are seeing here. Having said that it doesn't make it wrong to say their electricity bill is reasonable in either place.

Or alternatively, in a world where resources, housing and space are increasingly challenged why would a single home occupier pay so much less than those who are prudent enough to use the same resource (i.e. 1 home) to much more efficiently house 8 times as many people?. Surely - such efficiency is to be applauded rather than punishing them and rewarding people for sitting on and 'wasting' the excessive space..... just saying...
