some care free cows meandering past the sewerage treatment plant, a delightful sunset, and some brumbies on the way to do some maintenance.

a typically awesome sunset at yandi, plus a memory came up on my Facebook pages from my time at the roy Hill mine construction. Some amazing rock formations and fossils uncovered building the railway.

this was a 2m black headed python that we found in the road. Got out and ushered him off of the road but he was quite feisty. Had 2 grown men jumping like scared kids haha. The second one is a tree outside our camp at Yandi. When people finish up at the mine they hang their boots up on the tree, it's quite impressive.

What you see here is the shadows of two grown men shitting themselves because a snake moves. I'm Steve English not Steve Irwin

isn't it just? Saw another mouse spider yesterday but another bloke killed it, which I thought was unnecessary. I'll find the pic of the one I saw last year.

Weirdly, they often strike at the train wheels as well.

Though when one thinks of the threat a 2.3km iron ore train poses to a snake trying to cross the line, it's more understandable.

I remember a conversation about that town when we passed a seam of asbestos near the access track at Roy Hill afew years ago. It was impossible to access without mountaineering gear so they didn't take any precautions that I know of, but yhey may have sealed it. Population 3 haha

choose your battles wisely comes to mind. We mainly see cows on the wrong end of a train here, with the occasional roo. I like to leave a bit of space under the rail to give the snakes a fighting chance, and boy don't i cop it from the other lads

one of the Pilbara's many birds of prey, and so more stunning views at Yandi. Saw a wedge tail eagle rear up from a cow carcus but wasn't quick enough with the camera.
