How many of you are going, do you have family? Which area in Perth are you moving to?

Is it correct that once your visa is granted it is only valid for 6 months?

There are just two of us plus the cat. We are open as to which area of Perth we are moving to. When we went on our visa validation trip we preferred north of the river to south of the river. So, initially we hope to rent furnished NOR, then unfurnished when our container arrives, then buy a block somewhere with a view and build our own house. In the end, where we live will be dictated to some extent by where we get work - don't want to commute too far.

When you get the visa you usually have 12 months to validate, but the 12 months run from the date of your police checks or the medicals whichever is the earlier date. So if you frontloaded the PCCs and medicals you may not have much time from getting the visa to having to be in Oz.

Sounds like you have been having more fun than me! I can't wait until Rhys is at school. He is lovely but I want a social life. It's ok for the men, they go to work, do what they want when they want and we get the children all the time. If I go to the gym I even have to take him with me and that gets annoying because it restricts when I can go. OH goes as and when he likes without a thought for Rhys. Have hardly seen him this week. It's not through work either its by choice on his behalf. He finishes work at 5 and then goes to the gym until 8 or later some nights.
So I have to come home from work sort Rhys out, pick him up from childminder, feed him, bath him, put him to bed by which time I really cant get to the gym because its too late. I am fed up! Can you tell?
I so want to get back to work full time, this is truly killing me...
I haven't done anything Aussie related today not even checked my emails. Not really much else to do at the moment. I will set up my ozzie bank account.
I have tried to get Gaz involved with the planning but he can't be arsed so I have picked up all the organising. I really feel like leaving him to do it and going on ahead of him at the moment!

I wonder if it is any safer there than here? I guess not but would be nice if children could play outside in safety. Mind you they are most at risk from a family member or close friend seemingly. That poor little girl the other day murdered and abused by her uncle? Alledgedly...how horrific
