i mean i am laughing about it but its been bloody hard work.i feel awful about how i have felt at times (about wanting to be as a family on our own) but i just thought they would of understood but i was very wrong and i feel family can be the worst for it sometimes in regards to how they act and behave.

i have been sooooooooooooo good not to blow my top and say what i have thought at times ! :curse:

i think they have forgot that i sorted everything to get us here and we have been on our own for 18 months

lindzi

I understand that 'speak your mind' temptation...

I think mine would be something along the lines of 'GET OFF YOUR LAZY ARSES AND DO SOMETHING!' ...

BUT.. I'm too nice. ;)

Serious points to IPom and Lindzi!! You have been saints.

At least you know you can cope with a new born baby and rellies Lindzi - it'll all be plain sailing from now with just a new born baby! LOL!!! I don't think I got out of my dressing gown for 3 weeks after my baby was born so how you coped I don't know!

I am looking forward to getting a large portion of the World between me and my MIL. LOL. Such a shame she isn't afraid of flying! There's a business idea - Courses for family to teach them how dangerous flying is and how they should stay in the UK. LOL.

iPom ,hope your mother does not have access to your computer. She might be a little offended-or get on and help a bit!

When we were in England we had the opposite when Oh`s family would come from Oz for a month, usually over Xmas. He has 4 siblings who are all great but took it in turns to arrive for a month with their OH`s and hords of teens. One even turned up with a nephew from her OHs side.We did not know him from Adam, but he stayed for a month as well. We did enjoy having them to stay and took them to all the historical sights/London etc fed and watered them, luckily we had a huge house so we could give them all beds but I tell you by the end of each month I was close to exhaustion .Literally.

When guests come from so far its difficult to give them a limit to how long they can stay and I wanted our children to spend time with their Aus rellies and was happy that they wanted to come all this way to see us.Had I known we`d end up living here I might have been slightly stricter!

Already, they are eating me out of house and home, (they're a few stone over weight and need to stop shovelling it in)...
But my mother is driving me nuts in my own bloody house... makes herself a drink and doesn't ask us if we want one, leaves the tea bags in the sink, starts re-arranging the stuff in the cupboard....

I'm preparing meals, and she's asking when I'm 'doing' breakfast, which in our house is a help yourself affair.... Get yourself a bowl and sit on down with something in it.

It's only two days and I'm exhausted already.

There are 5 people in my house normally and now there are 7....

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I'll be all right.

Only 2 and a half months more to go....

Blimey iP, 2 and a half months is a bloody long time to have visitors even when you get on really well with them! I don't envy you.....

Has it got any better yet? Things calmed down and got a bit more back to 'normal' (ie are they helping themselves to brekkie yet?).

My Mum and MiL came over together in Feb for 3 weeks and were a dream.

Tried to stop them helping with everything but the ironing disappeared in a flash, carpets seemed to vacuum themselves and they insisted on paying for groceries and meals out.

They did all the washing up but knew better than to suggest cooking as that's hubby's area of excellence!

They kept each other company when we did things together and were no trouble at all. (Good job they get on really well).

Just lovely. Hope they'll be out soon again.

Hello.

How were your hols?

Today I lost my parents in the Botanical Gardens in Sydney... It took me an hour to find them...
I was hoping it was permanent but sadly, it wasn't to be.

It's going ok, thanks.... They've given us money for their keep so that's really helpful.

Oh well, nice try in the Botanical Gardens.....

At least they've made a contribution to their keep - it's something I suppose. Hope they don't drive you too mad...

Holiday was fantastic thanks, really wish we were still there. Did lots of relaxing in the sun, by the pool, on the beach... read loads of books etc. Fab.
