Already, they are eating me out of house and home, (they're a few stone over weight and need to stop shovelling it in)...
But my mother is driving me nuts in my own bloody house... makes herself a drink and doesn't ask us if we want one, leaves the tea bags in the sink, starts re-arranging the stuff in the cupboard....

I'm preparing meals, and she's asking when I'm 'doing' breakfast, which in our house is a help yourself affair.... Get yourself a bowl and sit on down with something in it.

It's only two days and I'm exhausted already.

There are 5 people in my house normally and now there are 7....

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I'll be all right.

Only 2 and a half months more to go....

you could always leave your laptop on, signed in to BE perhaps?
we'll tell them what's what :)

Thanks for that, Sally. I'll bear it in mind.

That quote... 'I don't like to help, you look so busy...' That's incredible. I'd be like 'Tell me what to do, give me a job'... Some people have no idea. :(

Maybe that's the reason why some people settle in Oz and some people don't!!!

Yes, though I love my parents, my mother drives me insane with her attitude... plus she's an overtly born again Christian who yacks on about god and how he's really 'moving in her life'... which means nothing to me, I'm afraid, but she still thinks we all need to hear it.
It's their lack of calorie burning and scoffing...
And that I need to prepare 'proper' meals three times a day.
I'm was still stuffed from dinner last night when I woke up this morning and I was asked by my mother when breakfast would be ready...
I restrained my desire to point at the cupboard and fridge and say 'dig in'...

They want 'proper' meals... so breakfast would be porridge, followed by some sort of bacon egg thing, and real coffee... before they settle down into a chair for the day.
I avoided the question by going out for milk and bread, and neatly sidestepped it. :D

I'd like to think they could but my mother can't work a computer.

Two years ago I was on holiday with all of the inlaws. I started to refer to meal time as 'Trough time'....(should give you a clue).

Poor you!
One of my favourite quotes is `Guests always bring pleasure;if not in the coming, then the going`

Don't forget the stopping for coffee and texting

I'll do you a deal. Send them up here and if (god forbid) my mother ever decides to come over, you can have her. You can push her over Wentworth Falls. Miss them when they go back???? Total codswallop IMHO anyway :D
