Cool Re: offroading Brisbane

I notice he's just down the road from the rest of us to join our 4x4 days out.

A good local one we've done up at Mount Mee is A Break but don't go on your own... you can find it in Dirty Weekends Off Road Guide Book http://www.dirtyweekends.com.au/index.php?MMID=6

We are still debating a 4x4 drive this July or if to leave it till next year when a few people say they may be up for it. We haven't had our Pathfinder raised yet and that's a must before we do a bigone.

Woner if Centurion wants to buy a nudge bar timber???...

Few good 4x4 trip sites:

Jimna above Kilcoy - http://www.landcruisermountainpark.com.au/

http://www.outbackholidays.info/thin...4x4-tracks.cfm

http://www.guidebooks.com.au/links.htm

Tagalong Tours
http://www.mangali4wd.com.au/welcome.htm
http://www.billabongoffroad.com.au/tagalongs.htm

Apparantly they are stopping making the Defender now, as they can't get it to meet future safety and emmission rules. But, I've always liked them just not the level of comfort they give. We had a Freelander at one point and quite liked it but perfer the Pathfinder it has a bit more umph without using as much fuel as the Patrol.

Glad to here it's arrived in one piece.

Already to get dirty?

We have been recommended off most of the big 4x4 places to go for the heavy duty magnetic anti rust thing for beaches as it stops the water clinging in the fist place and doesn't trap the salt water in like the painted/sprayed on treatments.

I'd have to get the hubby to post the technical details that's as complicated as I can get on this subject.

Can also recommend magnetic anti-rust device! We had it installed on our car before we bought it - works a treat!

We paid for them on our subaru's so when we sold them we kept the lighter weight one but it's not a heavy duty one but should have some effect.

Very ready to get it dirty ..pick it up Friday....can not wait to get our hands on it, we will probably spend most of the weekend just staring lovingly at it!!! yeah have thought about the anti rust thing but might still be a bit of a sceptic! In any case would not get it sorted at the dealers as I am sure they will out a nice profit on outsourced work!!

You may have your work cut out though disguising it as a Mitsubishi Delicia....

Think the Delicia club were at Bribie Island the same day as us last time.
