lol, I'm dreading my police checks. Hopefully my tellings off won't show. When I was 14-16 they knew me by name.

I'm getting concerned about my vetassess, I emailed them a week ago asking whether my documents had got to them and they just replied with a standard response about the process takes 6 weeks, if they need anything extra they'll contact me.

Think I might phone them tomorrow night and speak to someone.

I doubt a juvy offence should affect you (depends how serious it was though) but if you didn't/Don't leave anything out on your app it should be fine

Sorry to here that Xzibit. I emailed VETASSESS to confirm that they had received by docs and they kindly replied. Found out on Saturday that my online VETASSESS account said POSITIVE :). Only took them 4 weeks, just waiting for it in writing. Have now applied for State Sponsorship from Victoria so I can get a visa for over 100 points. Hopefully Melbourne here I come, would prefer it to be before 2009 but can't complain. Just wish I could get sponsored by an employer like my mate managed so I could get out there quicker.:(

Did any of you guys go the skills expo over the weekend at Australia House? From the Victoria state presentation, sounds like this is the biggest recruitment blitz since the 50's and 60's so if you want to go, nows the best time.

Well, I applied online on 11th Feb so now starting the 5th week. I emailed them asking whether they got the documents and got

Your case is currently in the process of being assessed. If VETASSESS request any further documentation in order to proceed with your application you will be notified.

MOST Qualifications Assessment applications are completed within 6 weeks, but that a small number of cases may take longer, for various reasons.

Please take note that this is an estimate only, and Qualifications Assessment are unable to guarantee that an application will be completed within this timeframe as some assessments, for example, may require consultations etc.... This estimate does not include the time taken by the applicant to provide us with item(s) we request in order to proceed with an assessment.

If there are any changes to your contact details (name, address or telephone number), please inform VETASSESS as soon as possible. This will prevent communication delays.
When I go to check online, it still says to send documents, but if I already have to ignore the message. Then at the bottom, it just says "ACTIVE" in blue.

Is this the same for everyone else?

Hello all! im on my own in Adelaide and have been for two years, got a few good mates now, but thinking of moving once I get my PR (on 495) as Adelaide is a bit rubbish for single people in my opinion, well unless you are 22 or retired.... which Im not!

Im thinking possibly Sydney..... after all have done the big step on my own so can't be that hard to move again?:confused::eek:

Hi Pompey,

Sounds like you like it over there though.

What do you do, and what made you head for Adelaide in the first instance ??

Maybe a change is as good as a rest for you ??

I already have PR, and I'm trying to arrange to go to all the major places / cities, before deciding where's going to be best for me.

Syndey has never appealed to my minds eye for some ridiculous reason, so It will probably be the place I like most ??? (lol)

Alan.

Hi, Im a social worker so i was sponsored by SA to come here, however i travelled round Oz back in 2003, so went to most places, perth is lovely, but Sydney is great and not so far away from everything else....

Adelaide is a sleepy, family orientated place, not so good for a single person. I feel like a "social pirahna" hehe!

Yeah, I have no desire to go back for good, visiting in June though.....

G'Day Pompeyblonde!

Blooming heck - Sydney after Adelaide will be like London after Lands End ;) I remember the first time I was in Adelaide, being dropped off in the 'city centre' then asking a local where the city centre was, to then be told I was standing in it.

A major major plus however has to be the close proximity to the Barossa :D

Mine said "ACTIVE" but when I checked on Saturday it said "POSITIVE"
Spoke to VETASSESS at the london expo and they said I would receive written confirmation some time soon.

I've applied on "Policy and Planning Manager" but dont think i will get a poistive on that basis so was advised to ask them to change it to "Project or Programme Administrator" - so we shall see what they do??? Not that bothered now as have found another route in that doesnt need skills assessment!!!!

Ok, well it's still within the 6 weeks, so not too worried yet. Will keep looking.

You applied 1 working day before me, so at least we're both still "active". Does yours still have the document checklist above where it has the details of your application?
