Default No cause for concern.

How many times, are the scientists that are about to turn on the Large Hydron collider going to say this.

It's freaking me out lol

September the 10th is the day, all legal avenues are closed, will the universe shake for you ?

Oh dont worry they've said it again......"there's no cause for concern"

I imagine everyone else here wants to know how stranglets come into existence as well

Anyone having a end of the universe party ? Didnt they learn anything from the dinosaurs... look where curiosity got them

Did the dinosaurs invent a meteor magnet?

A few years ago I found out that the first artificial nuclear fission was produced in a lab at Birmingham Uni. I guess if anything had gone wrong and Birmingham was devastated no one would have noticed the difference

LOL....Are you sure Brum is still there, has anyone bothered to check, I certainly kept driving when I got close to the place.

What chances, Bush will nuke the LHC as a WMD before next Wednesday ?

I guess I cant think of a better way of going, than in a artifically created black hole between France and Switzerland.

Apparently the big gig (i.e. 1st collision) isn't until the 21 October.

So what's the scenarios:

1) We get swallowed up in a mini black hole because Hawking got the radiation thing wrong.

2) Geneva and/or parts of Switzerland and France are blown to bits. (Maybe the dinos built their LHC off the coast of Mexico?)

3) They blow up somewhere in another dimension.

4) They peel another layer of the onion and need an even bigger collider.

5) The cleaner accidentally trips over the lead and shuts the whole thing down.

6) The French researchers head home to their mistresses and some bouillabaisse.

Just hang on to the towel rail in the bathroom - they're usually pretty sturdy.

Heh How would you like to be living in one of those houses above the damn thing !

Might be some cheap property going, in an otherwise, sought after area

There was a show on the telly about the most likely scenarios for the end of the world and top of the list, or pretty near the top was one of these crazy physics experiments going wrong.

Times like this, albeit a 1 million to one shot, that one wonders whether they should go through their "coupla days left to live" wish list ! I doubt if my wife would be happy if I did.

I found a good Horizon on UK nova about it.

I'd like to tell you but at the event horizon it would appear as though time has stopped so I won't be able to tell you. I think
