Tried to sell, no one wanted to buy in the time we had it up for sale, and we got sick of the Saturday open home thingio, so we took it off the market and have went back to our original plan of adding a pool and converting the garage.

Ours was put in and they automatically put the valve in to release water.
We had no problems with our build, the pool company even gave us the name and number of the earth mover guy so we could bypass them and save some money. Very little work needed on a month by month basis, Wouldn't be without it.

We put a concrete pool in last year and now wouldn't be without it (3 kids!). We did have a bit of a nightmare as the excavation came to double the estimate (over $5k) and they dug deeper than they should have. At the time we were really cheesed off as it wasn't exactly to our spec but now the kids are older and diving in etc its worked out for the best. We had solar provision put in for when we want to add solar heating. Hope this helps!

We worked it out to be about $35k plus (fibreglass 7 x 4 m) including all finishes (me doing the tiling installing fencing etc), and I've been told its one of those home improvements which you don't get your money back on, so it might be better looking for a house with a pool if you want a pool.
