Guaranteed service level is a start. It is fine if you can rdp to something well connected but only for one offs. I found tasks much quicker and more reliable over fibre. When your packets get dropped and latency swings certain protocols like smb cause hangs. I tend to operate on thousands of pcs at a time. As I said before fibre connected sites just went smoothly. Business would not pay for fibre if NextG was that good. Housing estates would not install ftth if it was the same as dsl. Why would the big mines be laying their own fibre? Why is fibre used instead of cat 5 for runs over 100m?

With my NextG connection I maintain databases, fix networks, remote in to users machines, run sql remotely etc etc, all on a nextg connection. What part of it is not 'business grade'?

And another thing, I just watched the latest episode of BBC's Click programme and they showed the new 3g My-FI device that has 4 antennae and can keep the signal alot better than current my-fi/3g connections. So as expected, technology is making it even better.

Broadband was not mentioned. They discussed this and decided that what they needed was investment and trade tarriff that incented people to buy australian local produce possibly using some sort of carbon taxation offset for transportation of foodstuffs . They did not need faster email or kids games running, it was not a priority compared to the other priorities and needs.

Well, that's a surprise. Farmers in the middle of bleedin' nowhere aren't sure what the multiplier effect of greater connectivity would be, but know they want more handouts from the government ("investment") and their competitors to be taxed more because they can't compete on price.

To go back to the "anything that Queensland can do badly, NSW can do worse" discussion - see, this is how do you do corruption, guys.

Some unintentional google ads humour in those articles.

The story was about a NSW corrupt politician earning millions from corrupt real estate deals, and the google ad, inserted right in the middle of the article was "learn how a housewife went from zero to $3.5 million dealing in real estate".

JANET? At Birmingham Uni we used that for playing games on Loughborough Uni's computer. Couldn't find any Porn.

You weren't looking hard enough In 1991 we used to use DEC workstations to ftp playboy pictures down from the US.

And as a side line we'd print them out on different printers on different campuses where our friends were working as admins, just to get them in trouble when all this soft porn turned up.

I think the main problem was getting porn to work on a vt220?
